I really really enjoy mages the best.  From an RP standpoint, the story really seems to take on a new level of personal interest for me with a mage what with the background of the whole mage/templar conflict and a lot of the quests deal with this over the course of all three Acts.
From a gameplay standpoint, I found the Spirit Healer spec to be awesomely powerful, esp once you add Force mage to it and gain +100 Fortitude. There were points in the game where it was my PC and Aveline left standing (thanks to her aura of healing) toe to toe against their foes.  Long ass fights because they don't do much DPS but they eventually got the job done.  On normal difficulty, unless things knocked every bit of health off my PC in one or two quick shots, inside of one round later she was maxed out in health and still fighting.  IE< once I got the aura, nothing could kill her.
Mages in DA2 were much more dynamic and interesting to me than in DAO, and I really liked the spec trees, I just wish they hadn't been so character specific.  For instance, Anders is the ONLY healer if you don't play a mage since Merrill doesn't get the creation tree, and you lose Bethany after Act 1.
I tried out a two handed warrior but couldn't get past Act 1 (I just can't get into playing one).  Haven't tried rogue yet, I just really really enjoy the mages.

I love archery rogues just so much fun to play. Of course then its harder to have a balanced party if you refuse to get rid of varric from your party no matter what but still.

yeah, i love the mage.
force mage and elemental magic focused, its just a blast to play. moving people around to be more effected by my fireballs and firestorms. cone of colding guys, fist of the makering dudes that aveline recently shieldslammed and making them go pop. just super satisfying. plus being mostly ranged i get that tactical view to see things better without being surrounded by enemies.

i tried playing the rogue, made it most of the way through act1 and felt like i wanted to just play the mage again, from bethany being far less interesting than carver. the rogue not being as fun, and the mages better connection to the story it felt a bit lacking as the rogue.

i should try the warrior, but i think i'd run into the same issues with it as the rogue.

oddly though, i hated playing the mage in DA:O, it was super overpowered but FELT weak. i loved playing the warrior though (which was weak but FELT powerful) if that makes anysense lol. plus the human noble warden felt the best with the rest of the story.

I have yet to fully explore the mage class beyond a few hours of Act 1 and the demo, but from what I've played thus far an archery focused rogue suits me the best. Bursting Arrow and Archer's Lance were, and still are, a sort of crack that I find hard to give up even now whilst on my Warrior centric play-through.
Second to that, however, I would definitely say that mages tend to be my second favorite if only because of their crowd clearing abilities.

Blood mage with force mainly cause all you have to do is pull all of the people to the same spot and get the most powerful out of them all to kill the others with blood magic and use fist of the maker on there ***

Mage. In every fantasy game I play, I have to have some sort of real magical ability, even though I really liked being an Arcane Warrior. I enjoy being a support class- I build my abilities around the needs of whomever ends up being my core team.

I always prefer playing Warrior's. They're just more fun. it's really a shame they're so underpowered. By end game, my rogues were doing over double the DPS I was doing and my mages were almost that strong too.

2hd Warrior's don't fair too well either. They get like three damaging spells and that's it. They really got shafted in this game. I know they're supposed to be filling a "tank" role but I'm pretty sure a 2hd Sword would do more damage than a couple of daggers.

Not to mention Warriors don't get many weapons either. Man, my favorite class sucks. :c

I'd totally buy DLC to get Meredith's sword though. c:

Archer Assasin. Mark of Death and Assasination are just way too fun. One shot kills are great, heh.

Rogue for me. I imagined the Grey Warden Commander being the sort of warrior white knight type guy going in to the save the day.

Hawke, a penniless refuge from Lothering trying to make a name for himself in the large city of Kirkwall just makes the Rogue class appealing if you're rising to power through shady sort of means.

Try the warrior build/strat posted here.

Before I gave it a shot my warrior felt lackluster and I had to pause often to babysit my other characters. After respeccing, I rip through groups with ease, barely ever use potions, and clear enemies completely between each wave on hard mode.

Cleave, use of the R button to auto target, and Reaper should really increase efficiency. Also very important is Ander's "Haste" skill in the creation tree which will significantly boost your damage. On top of this I have Merrill maintain Elemental Weapons while Anders maintains Heroic Aura.

Hope this helps.

I really liked the dw rogue my first play through, it was fast and flighty, but for my second I played a mage and it was a little more fun. I just LOVED to Tempest/Hemorrhage huge groups, and the animation for Tempest just really convinced me I was playing a powerful apostate. Toss is some spirit healer for the passive stuff and emergency healing and it was a winning combo for me.

I haven't played a warrior yet, that's for my next play through.

I loved playing as a blood mage. Despite the questionable morality of stabbing ones self in the chest to cause half a dozen templars to hemorrhage to death I found it fun. Playing the good maleficar was an interesting experience.

I normally play fighters, preferring to get in the middle of the fighting (I was a warrior in DAO but probably played more like a rogue without backstabbing and such). However, I can't help but feel disconnected from the story if I'm not playing a mage in DA2. It's something about how, with the story attention paid to the mage/templar dispute, if it's not affecting you, you're removed from the actual decisions, even if the story pushes you to be part of them.

I played a sword/shield warrior in my first playthrough, the sheer amount of disruption and chaos you can cause in the middle of a swarm of enemies was ... fun :) You can't really beat that *CLANG* the shield makes when it collides with someones face :D

Two handed warrior for the total immersions in battle and since I can have AOE with my sword now. Taunt them, slash them, hurt them with pain, and then Whirlwind. BAM!

Mage, without question. Being able to cast spells is an incredible feeling. I tried to do a second playthrough as a 2 handed warrior, but didn't even make it out of the exaggerated portion before I reloaded and started a new mage. It just didn't feel right.

I've always been some sort of caster class in every fantasy game I've played so naturally mage suited my style easily. I love being able to stand at a distance and see the entire battle field, the support it provides and how customizable my party came be with me as the mage.

I played a spirit healer force mage and felt pretty powerful. It was fun to play.

My Rogue is very fun though, hard to choose as I really like the melee combat stuff.

I have not tried warrior yet, need to restart my Rogue play through as it seems the game bugged on me in part 2. :*(

I made a warrior for my first playthrough but sadly neglected him as i played. I just preferred the animation and feel of playing as a mage. Even if only Anders can be a healer. So my second playthrough will be a mage.

I like mage the most I guess, I like classes that provide support roles. Crowd control, buffs, debuffs, healing, damage avoidance, stuff like that. Feels more tactical and cerebral than simple hack and slash.

I've only played as a mage and rogue so far, and I really enjoyed the mage. Normally I like throwing myself directly into the fight but I found the range of options for mage specialisation really fun. Force mage was great for crowd control. The only trouble I had was against the Arishok, and I reloaded to refuse the duel because my mage was just too squishy to go up against such a strong melee foe alone.

Duel-wielding rogue is nice for the speed and the way you can leap between enemies. There's something really satisfying about using the Twin Fangs move as well.

I got a taste of the warrior class when talking control of party members, and I thought two-handed warrior was good fun, but sword and shield was rather boring (a useful asset to the party, but not terribly exciting to control). Archery was fun, but if I'm playing ranged I'd rather be using fireballs than arrows.
