Hey guys, I used to love playing as an Amazon in Diablo 2.  High DPS in a ranged distance.  I hope I got a good setup for Hawke being an Archer Rogue.  This is also what I am normally using as my Nightmare Mode setup. Please provide any feedbacks

Hawke's High Auto Crit DPS Setup
I make Hawke into a High DPS Archer.  Autocritting and items that help add more damage.
Equipment - Anything that gives Crit Damage/Physical Damage
Main Skills:
Scoundrel - Blindside, Twist the Knife and Follow Through
Shadow - Pinpoint Precision and Disorienting Critials (Obscure)
Specialist - Speed Buff Fully Upgraded (Quick Skill Recharges and Increased Attack Speed (IAS))
Assassin - Devious Harm (Adding Crit Damage %), Mark of Death (Rasies DPS on target)
Shadow - Pinpoint Precision and Disorienting Criticals (Obscurity conditional criti damage)

Sum of  Passive Crit Damage % (Passive Crit Damage meaning without the use of more than 1 Active Skill save a skill that gives obscurity)
Specialization Assassin - 10%
Pinpoint Precision - 25%
Disorienting Criticals - 25%
Devious Harm - Cunning Attribute (1% per point)
Total Crit Damage% - 60% Crit Damage + 1% Cunning Variable

To summarize, you can practically give Hawke at least 100% Crit Damage without nearly the aid of a skill with a high cunning attribute

Add skills and teammates however, adds even more dps

Constant Solo Combo - Pinpoint Strikes (100% Critical Chance) and Speed Buff - With IAS being 15% more and constant recharging of Pinpoint Strikes due to the cooldown that Speed buff gives (90% faster cooldown) will make Hawke Perma-Crit, allowing him to crit ALWAYS.

Anders Combo - Add Ander's Haste and Herioc Aura.  This gives Hawke a Total of 65% IAS and an extra 10% more damage passively. Give him Swift Justince to recharge Haste (90% cooldown will make the party Perma- Haste)

Other Team Build Setup
Aveline - Tank/Crowd Control
Merrill - Walking Bomb/Tag Combo Abuse
Anders - Brittle/Tag Starter/Utility Heal

Combos:
Auto Crit Setup = Mentioned Above

Tag Starters = Pinning Strike, Shield Bash, Winter's Grasp and Cone of Cold are great Tag Combo Starters for Merrill's Stone Fist, Chain Lightning and Spirit Strike and Hawke's Archer's Lance and Bursting Arrow.  Aveline's Scatter is used but rarely since all the stamina is being used for defense skills like Stonewall and Shield Bash

Death and Walking Bombs = The forgotten Diablo 2 skill corpse explosion.  Have Merrill slap a Walking Bomb curse on an enemy with high health near a crowd and have Hawke crit him to death for massive (and bloody) explosion

Use Dog whenever possible.  Love that dog.

Hopefully all I have.  Please leave me a comment/feedback so that I can improve this build more or if I forget a person that also helps add Hawke's DPS.

Nice setup, thanks for sharing. Weird that nobody gave any feedback since the last month.

Hmm I can't really answer the lack of feedback as I wasn't active on these forums back then. And I don't think Roberto will see this as he seems to be quite inactive now.

Anyhow, in terms of feedback:
- There's no need to rely on pinpoint strikes for auto-critting: Early game it is definitely useful but later game with ~40dex for equipping bows (30% crit chance), 10% from heroic aura, ~27% from accessories, and assuming we're not talking about an elemental archer, ~10+% or so from armour.
Assuming that instead of shadow we're specced into duelist instead, we get an extra 15-25% crit chance. Which means that you'll have 92% crit chance in general and 100% against anything you throw the gauntlet at. If you wished to get 100% crit chance you could use precision (instead of speed) which when upgraded will yield 15% crit chance, which also makes it possible for a shadow/assassin to get close to 100% crit chance.

- For pure dps it may be preferable to go duelist. Not only do you have an extra spike damage talent (vendetta) but the passives and sustain means that it is possible to get 100% attack while having dex only around 40. This allows more cunning to be pumped which = more dps as with a 100% crit rate and devious harm you will gain approx 0.25 base damage for each cunning pumped instead of dexterity (cunning increases by 1 dmg, dex by 0.75). In the long term this will enable higher crit damage to be attained than the ~50% from been an obscured shadow.

- I can't really be bothered addressing the other potential issues with this build such as investing in the archery tree (for archer's lance etc.) which is pretty wasteful talent-wise...as there much better things to spend points on

- The use of walking bombs is a good concept though. In order to make the most of it you really want to setup a walking bomb CCC though. Unless you want to waste hawke's points this would lend itself towards a two rogue party setup with either Varric, Sebastian or Isabela providing the fatiguing fog such that big walking bombs can be setup off and aveline can go nuts with scatter and assault if she's still in the party.

So for a walking bomb hawke dps archer build I would probably go:
Anders: Elemental Dmg/Walking Bomb/Support --> Brittle enemies for hawke to assassinate/varric to archer's lance
Aveline: Dps Warrior/Tank --> Set up staggers for hawke to vendetta
Varric: Dps Ranged/Fatiguing Fog+Confusion --> Disorient for Aveline and Anders

p.s. For items (which roberto didn't really go into detail about), get the stealth boots and use the champion armour. If you use those items and the Seven Deadly Cinch, Etched Ring of the Twins, Four Fingered Eddie's Lucky Talisman, and the Puzzle Ring of the Black Fox you should have around (50+89=139%) base critical damage with every point into cunning increasing it by 2%. This means that a critical damage(%) of 200+% should be quite easily attainable.
If you wish to go elemental, switch the chestpiece for the robe of unblemished cleanliness and one of the +crit chance/dmg rings for the ferryman's ring. And just check IN1's build.

haha hope this helps, I felt in the mood for spieling. :)
