However it's very satisfying to see people enjoying it. You might say that may not be the case because of people complaining about things, such as the amount of RPG in ME2. All that means though is that people enjoy your work that much, and get sucked into the game so much, that they want it as good as possible from their perspective.

worst job? or you meant it is a dream job? son, you have no clue what is the worst job because you have no experience such thing. everything you do is assumption. I can say that it is more happier job rather than worst. isn't it? I have been through worst job in my life for 7 years, son. you have no idea. I served for military 7 years as Captain. deployed in Iran, Iraq, and went to real combat 10 times. again, you dare to say making game is the worst job in Bioware? LOL. you are totally wrong.
How the hell do you know how old he is or his life experience, and what Captain comes on to game forums and says LOL. You only went to real combat 10 times? Sounds like you had in pretty cushy.

personally I like going out to stores on or around launch day and listening to people talk about the game (not all creepy/stalker-like, promise!)
That can be pretty satisfying...
I don't know... those glowy yellow volus eyes just scream stalker...

Its the same world we live in, sadly.
It boggles my mind why it boggles other's minds why people make threads showing Bioware gratitude.

Haha, well OBVIOUSLY "worst job in the entire world" was a bit of a strech.

So here's to you Bioware! You truly are making the ultimate sacrifice! Giving up the opportunity to indulge yourself in these amazing titles that you manage to produce, so that the common man (and woman) can escape this harsh and unforgiving game we call "life" to experience a natural extacy.
To all the developers at BW, you have my undying gratitude. Thank you.
Well thank you. That's very kind!

I have to be honest as I havent played DA 2 yet I will reserve judgement on its quality however I am rather shocked at the huge amount of nerd rage on the DA forum, is it really all that bad?!
Let's put it like that: It got worse press reviews than any other Bioware game in a decade. Seing how almost every Biwoare game over the last decade scored around 90% and up however this means it is only bad in comparison to those. The game itsself is still better than most of the stuff you can get out there, just "not good for a Bioware game" especially when compared directly to their last few games (ME1, ME2 and of course DA1)
That said I guess there is another reason why it sucks way more to work at Bioware. You put all that hard work into creating these games (and most people wouldn't believe how much work it actually is) and as a reward you get people like us comming here calling the game bad allthough most of us couldn't even create one of the loading screens at the quality Bioware does let alone a whole game.
So kudos Bioware and sorry for b*tching around so much. (try to see the bright side though. As long as people complain they actually also care. A lot)
Thank you I thought that was pretty much the case, from the few reviews I have read they were pretty good, but as you say not exactly fantastic in comparison to the likes of the ME and DAO ones. Either way I will still purchase it at some point.

Naw there are some sneaky ways of keeping some nice bits. For example while I was on ME1 - I didn't actually know what was happening on Virmire. So when I got to play it rather late in development I was BLOWN AWAY (no pun intended)
What? They hid the plot twist from you? Sneaky guys...

That's what BW games have given me, an escape to amazing stories and universes. Long work hours and medical difficulties induce LOTS of stress on my life but BW has given me literally thousands of hours of joy to forget for a time those hardships. KOTOR, Jade Empire, ME, ME2, DA:O, DA2... all those games I have multiple (sometimes over a dozen) playthrough for hundreds of hours each in total. Heck, DA2 just came out not even 2 weeks ago and I already got 1 playthrough complete and just started Act 3 with another for a total of roughly 80 hours and I'm no where near done with that game. I also plan on redoing my ME2 renegade playthrough prior to Arrival DLC to make him more renegade purist (he was sort of 'Renegon' my first attempt and destroyed the CB) so goes another 40 or so hours. I wouldn't trade it for anything. The only games I put in multiple playthroughs for hundreds of hours of playtime is Bethesda's FO3 and FONV but as fun asthey are too they come in a very distant second place compared to the time and effort I've put in BW games.
Thanks BW. Your games are the only reason I bought a xbox (for KOTOR) and xbox360 (for ME) and you keep on delivering. All the games I mentioned above rate at least a 9.0 out of 10 in my book. BW sets the standard that most studios can only hope to aspire to. Well done.

I completely agree with you. Along with that there's the affect that your creation has on you. To see your vision embodied, at any stage must be awe inspiring. I would be thrilled to find that even 1000 people cared to see something I made, something that was wholy an original construct. I myself am an artist, I do some writing on the side but I just love visual media. I have to say though, sometimes your writing can be more powerful to you than it ever will be to a reader. I remember that there was a short story I wrote a while ago that when I was writing it I was on the verge of tears because of how vivid a picture I had in my head, it wasn't even something I could directly relate to, it was just that as I wrote I wholy submitted myself to the emotions of the character I was writing.Akizora wrote...
Being a writer myself (not an author unfortuantely) I would love to see my writing in action, as a game, movie, tv-series or whatnot. Being able to tell a story and seeing others unravel the mysteries I've hidden and knowing that people played and loved (or hated, as long as they have an opinion) what I created would be a huge payoff. Then they have plenty of other games to play, I'm sure they're not very involved in the development of Dragon Age 2 expansions and Dragon Age 3, The Old Republic etc.
However being a Quality Assurance guy at Bioware must suck, playing and bugtesting all of Biowares games during their alpha and beta stages and not being able to experience the story and narrative like I do now would really put a dent in my gamer-existence.

That's like when gerorge lucas hid the whole "Luke, I am your father," from almost everybody.
