So for a while, I kept seeing Isabella get 1 shotted from full to zero at the beginning of the fights. The few times I just rationalized she was the target of a way too common assassin, but other times I just have no clue why, as, despite being nightmare, there aren't many things that instantly kills her like that.
And one fight it hit me. Mopping up an elite, she teleported over and backstabbed him, and then remained there happily stabbing away at his back as I tanked him from the front (sword and board warrior). I then used Assault.
She didn't make it: instant drop from full to zero.
So now I learned assault is a cone attack. Shield bash is one too. And Scatter obviously is. So is Pommel Strike the only offensive activated skill that I - as a sword and board warrior - can use that doesn't hit more than one target? Or is there another?
Or should I start comforting myself in that I at least still have auto attack unlike my 2h brothers?
Single target Warrior skills?

You might just have to be more careful with friendly fire. As a mage I'm used to this now, from playing Origins, must be quite different for warriors now.

I'm used to friendly fire, as I turn that on in every game I play if given the option. When things get hairy in the fights, I actually let the tactics take over my main character and I play as one of my mage companions instead, as I find they offer far better control. But I don't like doing that for every fight (or else I just would have made a mage character =P).
I was more interested in knowing if it's true that Pommel Strike appears to be the only non aoe attacking abilities that warriors get, or if I'm missing something in the specialization trees (I haven't messed with them much... or actually, at all >

I think even your autoattack is AOE, it's just much smaller than for a 2H warrior. Personally, I think that friendly fire in this game is stupid, but not because friendly fire is stupid in general; the problem, as I have mentioned elsewhere, is asymmetric scale between monsters and players. Basically, you've got 200-400 HP, but you do hundreds of damage per hit, whereas even weakling minions have something like 500 HP but do maybe 10 damage per hit. If there is no friendly fire and no damage return, this doesn't matter (though there's still no reason to do it this way). If those things ARE there, friendly fire is now hugely more punishing to you than to the enemy (because you do 1000 damage with an attack, that's maybe 1/4 of a lieutenant's health, but enough to kill your hapless rogue several times over) and damage return is stupid (if you have it, it doesn't do crap, if they have it you kill yourself amazingly fast). It's stupid and they should change the scales to match.
