An idea for a DLC companion. I wanted a character to fill the void of "goofball" that Alistair left behind. She was inspired by Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter series and Deadpool from Marvel. Imagine Alistair and Leliana had a baby, and she grew up into this. Still working out the kinks, but I gotta get SOME feedback.

"Everywhere that Meri goes, death is sure follow." –Noah O’Things on Knight-Commander Meredith
“Call me Noah, Noah O’Things. Because I’m a “knowa o’ things”.[/i]
Rumors in Kirkwall’s Darktown tell of a mysterious figure that often wanders through the city at night. The figure wears a black cloak and has a long, black hair with silver streaks, and eyes that shimmer like pearls. The people refer to this stranger as "Pearleye", but she prefers to be called “Noah O’Things”.
Description[/b]
Noah is a young woman of slender build and fair complexion. Her hair is long and black with silvery streaks, and silver, iridescent eyes that resemble pearls in the light, a trait that has given her the nickname “Pearleye” (She’s also called “Skunkhead” due to her hair color, but she’ll kill you if you say that to her face.). Her clothing is mostly black and consists of leather pants and boots, a long, black coat with a hood, and a pair of leather gauntlets.
Emblazoned on the back of her coat is a silver snake-eye, with four smaller symbols around it on the cardinal directions (From the north point going clockwise: the Chantry symbol, the Templar symbol, the Grey Warden symbol, and a crown.). The meaning of these symbols are unknown, but appear to represent organizations and cities Noah has been in close contact with.
Noah only takes her hood off when she’s not in public, which is very rare.
She has a very androgynous voice and appearance, causing some people to assume she’s a man before they see her face.
Personality[/b]
“Everybody has a friend. You just need to know where to look.”[/i]
[/i]
“Circles…such funny little shapes. They look like balls…eyeballs…staring right at you. And they just go on forever and ever.[/i]
“The Unworthies do not deserve friends. They don’t even deserve to exist.”[/i]
Noah is almost always seen with a warm smile or a look of neutrality, but it’s very difficult to tell what she’s thinking as her expression rarely changes and she always remains calm and collected. Though she acts friendly, she has an air of mystery about her that unnerves most people. She’s also very spacey and has a tendency to wander into her own little world, and often thinks out loud.
Noah is also very secretive. She refuses to divulge any information about herself to anybody, no matter how much they ask, bribe, or threaten her, and if they persist, she’ll just make something up (Only to confess that she lied if they ask her if she’s telling the truth.). She claims she’ll only tell the truth to someone who can “decipher the message of the eye”, which appears to be connected to the symbols on the back of her coat. The problem is, she’ll give hints if one performs impossibly difficult tasks for her, and even if one were to get lucky and solve the riddle, there would be no way of telling whether or not she’s telling the truth. She appears to have some personal issues as she says she’s “still looking for her “true friend”.
A self-proclaimed “true friend to all”, Noah treats everyone she meets with kindness and courtesy regardless of race, class, background, or creed. This kindness even extends to apostate mages and known criminals, and she continues to show it even in the heat of battle (She apologizes or tells the enemy to do their best before a battle.), causing many people to think she’s insane. But even though she has a lot of heart, Noah is no pushover and can be very merciless when she needs to be. She will continue to show people kindness even if they’re cruel to her (Though she has been known to deliver several veiled threats.).
The only time Noah ever breaks her normally friendly, absent-minded character is when she’s around what she calls “The Unworthy”. What is takes for her to consider someone “Unworthy” is unknown, but those who she does consider appear to be high-ranking guardsmen, nobles, templars, and clergymen. What is known is that whenever Noah sees an Unworthy, she’ll go from kind, absent-minded, polite, and mysterious, to cold, focused, uncaring, and clear in one thing: their death. Noah will go out of her way to see to it that the Unworthies are killed, and she always kills them painfully and slowly, physically and mentally. Why she does this is unknown, but it only serves to further alienate her from the rest of the world.
Noah appears to be a bit of a bookworm as she’s often seen reading or writing things down in a little, black book she carries with her. She claims it’s a hobby of hers, but how much of that is true is unknown. She owns a large number of similar black books, and she’s willing to share what she knows with people she likes or has taken an interest in.
Noah has a tendency to make horrible puns.
Background[/b]
Even murkier than Noah’s true nature is her background. Some people say she’s a spirit from the Fade in human form. Others say she’s a renegade Grey Warden. There are some who even say she’s Andraste reborn. Nobody knows the truth, so what little background information out there is either rumor or speculations, many of which are downright absurd. Here are some of the more popular rumors:
*She’s an ex-Grey Warden who was forcefully drafted into the order, but somehow escaped. But not before she had a one-night stand with Warden-Commander Duncan. (From Noah herself; do you have to ask?)
*She’s a former Orlaisian bard who deserted her country after the noble she worked for betrayed her and killed her closest friends. (Also from Noah herself; a lie, but she based on a story she heard.)
*She’s a pasty-faced, skunk-headed lyrium-addict with a horrible case of syphilis. (Plausible.)
Current Life & Intended Role In DA2[/b]
Noah currently lives somewhere in Kirkwall slaughtering Unworthies in their sleep, giving random strangers hugs, and essentially being a local legend.
Hawke and his companions can encounter her by reading a Chantry Board post asking for information on “Pearleye”, and then leaving the area and going anywhere in Kirkwall during the day. A cutscene will occur where Noah walks up to Hawke and gives him a hug for no reason. Awkwardness ensues, and Noah will leave.
Afterwards, ask around Kirkwall for information. Then, go to Darktown at night. You’ll find Noah being accosted by some thugs. Win the battle, watch the cutscene, then return to your house, Noah will be there and give you a small bell. The bell can be accessed at the desk where you write letters. If you choose to ring it, Noah will come to your house. This is the only way to talk and give gifts to her as she can’t be found in Kirkwall no matter where you look.
In addition to talking and gifts, Noah can unlock three additional specializations:
Spirit Warrior (Warrior)-Returns from Awakening with added abilities.
Ranger (Rogue)-Unrelated to the specialization from Origins.
Arcane Warrior (Mage)-Returns from Origins with added abilities.
Noah’s character quest centers on solving the “message of the eye”, who she really is, why she seeks to kill the Unworthies, and what she means by “still looking for her “true friend””.
This is all I have so far. Once again, critique is needed. Thank you.
