A couple of friends of mine were trying to run Icewind Dale 2 coop in full screen only to hit the infamous crash or blackscreen.

after hours of messing around, i figured out this simple solution.

-launch the game in windowed mode
-setup your network game
-once the game launches press alt+enter to go fullscreen  (duh #winning)

simple as that!! 

you would have to reset your config file back to windowed after every session, but no big deal. 

if you have netplay connection problems, we used game ranger, you can use tungle or hamachi, whatever your preference.

I figure this would help people having this problem with baldurs gate as well, as i came across other people  being stuck in windowed mode.
