Anyone end up alone not out of choice, but out of politics?

I'm not done yet, but it's looking highly likely that will be the case for my first playthrough.

SPOILERS HEREAFTER:

My female rogue Sula bedded Isabela for fun, but was always interested in Fenris. She is anti-slavery, and they bond over this... however, due to her loyalty to her sister's memory, she is pro mage. This means that they are constantly second-guessing each other (their loyalty wavers up and down a lot!) and she can't convince him to stay with her. She is too protective of Merril to even go there, and believes Anders is homosexual.

She almost opened up to being with Isabela after her mother's death, but the events with the Arishok completely destroyed any chance of that. The Arishok was her friend, and she 100% blames Isabela for causing the riots, and is now poised to hand her over to the Arishok as reparations.

Aveline once warned her that if she wasn't careful she'd end up all alone. And now, with her political beliefs standing in the way, it's seeming very likely.

....And I LOVE IT. One of my favourite elements of the game. In origins, the decisions seemed much simpler with regards to romance, but here it's so tied up in bigger things. Love it.

xD I'm a Paladin at heart but My curiosity for what's inside locked boxes made me go rogue so my rogue ended up having and incredibly saintly position on so many things. I forgave so many people for the things they had done because evil, as the Arishok put it, is a symptom. I wanted to be every one's friend. Except Isabella. She grossed me out and annoyed me. I let her keep the idol because she was probably going to whether I let her or not, but I sold her out to the Arishok the first chance I got. She never came back and I figured the maker would deal with her.

I didn't end up alone. Fenris loved me enough that he wouldn't leave my side even after I sided with the mages. But I totally agree it really tested your diplomatic skills even if you hit nothing but the green options all the way through some one would not feel the same way and you'd end up paying for it.

I killed Anders in my first play through after the Chantry incident. It was pretty wrenching, but I couldn't let it go. I felt so ridiculously and utterly used.

I did but it was sort of by choice. I mean, I COULD have let Anders stay with me after he blew up the Chantry but, well, he blew up the freaking Chantry. That was definitely a political action so you could say that was what happened.

Or sometimes the game makes the decision for you.

I romanced Merril. She moved in. Professed her love for me (and I for her) before the final battle, but in the prologue narration I run off with Isabella. Either the programmers know how much of a man-**** I am, or they didn't beta-test this game very well.

I was told that I ran off with Anders which REALLY doesn't seem healthy seeing as how he's dead and all. Then again, he didn't die when stabbed through the chest in the pre-DA2 story so perhaps he didn't die from that after all. But he should have realized that the attempted-execution meant I didn't want him following me around...

Just traded Isabela to the Arishok. She thought she could just waltz in and expect it all to be all right after inciting a huge riot? Think not.
