Oh, they already want it. It's just a question of how long it is before someone asks for it.

This has already been achieved through a glitch.

There you go. Simply enable the mod which will make you appear as the opposite gender to everyone in the game, get "acquainted" as a female with Morrigan or as a male with Alistair and then you can uninstall the mod again. You can also leave it enabled although you'll be treated wrongly in gender specific situations but there is no other harm.
