[Request] Disabling Friendly Fire.(Nightmare)

However due to the way Damage scales it's Virtually impossible to Run with any other melee other than myself. I'm all for Tactical Gameplay, but not at the cost of story. In DAO, I was able to make a concious choice to damage my allies to use an AoE move, would just cost me some extra healing. In Dragon age 2, this is not the case. Just instantaneous Dealth, One Bad Scythe, and my party is done. This makes bringing only Ranged classes a neccesity. Which is a shame because I really wanted to mixup my party make up, and make Isabela a mainstay, as I am drawn to her story the most.
TL;DR: So, would it be possible for anyone to construct a mod that Disables friendly fire? Or even to just our Melee Companions immune to it?
There is a mod that reduces FF to .25. However, My Hawke's burst combo does anywhere from 5-10k damage and the majority of my party members have just over 200(Save Hawke and Merrill) Thus the mod has no effect.
@Bioware: In the future, could you give Melee Talents to reduce their AoE Damage taken?
Thanks

Better yet would be a slider to adjust friendly fire from 0% to 100% or anywhere in between. It wouldn't be hard to code, either.
For the most part I like friendly fire, since if it didn't exist it would be all too easy to just clump my party up and spam AoE like there was no tomorrow. I agree though that it makes 2h warriors a huge danger to their own fellow melee.
Slightly off-topic: Does anybody else feel like they got the balance between sword/shield and 2h really wrong? What sword/shield gives up in damage it doesn't even come CLOSE to getting back in survivability/utility. Maybe if aggro control was better in this game having a true "tank" would make sense.....but as it stands with random spawn points for mobs and taunt having a long cooldown/high cost it just makes sense to have your melee pump out the most damage possible. Oh, not to mention that if something does hit REALLY hard to the point that a real tank would have been useful....you can probably just kite it anyways.

if you're into heavily modding yourself and your entire crew, you can give them 100% armor so they won't take damage to your attacks

Thanks for the reply.
The problem is, I'd still want my companions to take damage from Enemies. Is there anyway to give them 100% armor vs. Friendly Fire Damage?

I really, really hope someone figures this one out fast.
Bioware things they "learned their lesson" from the last game by making FF only in Nightmare. Problem is, some people want FF in all difficulties, and some want it in none. The majority of folks are probably in one of those two camps.
FF is kindof a "like it or hate it" feature, not a like it sometimes, hate it others feature. That's why it should be its own game setting.

Awesome!
At least this time they put it right in a setting file like that.
I seem to recall that in DA1, you had to edit spell scripts.

Thanks a bunch!
I apologize for the novice question, but how is this applied to the game? Save Editor? GDapp?

Throw it into /user/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age 2/packages/core/override then set difficulty to Nightmare.

Oh the conventional way. <_< Thanks, sorry the .GDA throw me for a loop there. I tend to overcomplicate things.

Best mod I've ever downloaded for a game. Makes micromanaging exact positions of my companions a lot easier.
EDIT: This mod also allows me to start working on a Michael Bay Explosion Mage build I could never make work on Nightmare.
