You need a "skip dialogue" button/key ~ sometimes I don't care to listen, sometimes I've already heard it, sometimes and so on.

I'm starting my 4th game of DA2 now, if they didn't have a skip function I'd barely played one. (And I listen to most of it, but some of the dialogues I've heard 20-30 times, or at least gone through them that many times - due to reloads and the like.

So OP, go away.

La sigh.

The quotes you respond to are too hard to read.

I see....

I don't understand, and I don't see that, but I see you saying it.

As for the post above me...

I bought a game to interact with, not a movie to watch.

Have you considered that the problem is DAII and it's lousy combat implimentation, and not that combat is an unimportant part of the game?

Combat is an important part of the game, but not an essential part. The point of the game is to tell a story, not to let you kill ****. Killing **** is a way to drive the narrative, but not the only way.

That said (and this is an entirely different topic), combat in DAII is the most fun and satisfying gameplay I've ever experienced. I never dread getting into a fight.

So a game with a better combat style would be more to your liking?

What of Dragon Age: Origins or Awakening?

It seems you're just upset with the combat the way it is in DA:2 which we all are, but that doesn't mean combat should always be superseded in all games.

It is one of the reasons sure. I very much dislike waves and waves of mobs.

But it is not only thing. I don't like it that there is almost nothing else but combat in DA2.
Every quest is solved by killing punch of bandits or horde of dragons.
Rpgs should have something more.

That's different than skipping the combat.

It's not your fault. I just hate line breaks. They give me headaches. I'm sure that the other people who ignore all your good points are just lazy though

The point of the game is to tell a story

The point of a game is to PLAY A GAME.

Books are to tell stories. Movies are to tell stories. You want one of those.

If you want a game where you don't have to do anything but explore, buy/sell goods and talk to people, this style of game is not for you. Pick a different kind.

Actually the point of a game was to INTERACT in the story, not to simply kill things all day.

I love story, and I play games for story, so that I CAN BE IN THE STORY.

Not just use my imagination, because it's hard to imagine things in color.

This is strictly accurate. The story is often what makes it a good game, or perhaps a great game, as opposed to just a game.

I love story too.

It's fun to play a character in a story, provided you play it.

Admittedly I very much enjoy beating the holy crap out of piles of mobs in a stylized way. Luckily, there's lots of games I can do that in. Unluckily, not all of them have great stories. Would like to cherish the ones that do have good stories.

We need a video game franchise nature preserve.

Not really, but I'm glad I got to get the story fleshed out a bit more... DA:2 had a lot of errors, no one on this board thinks that I LOVE this game.

Possible new slogans for future Bioware releases?

"Press a button...and something awesome doesn't happen!"

"Fight like a Spar...*click*"

Actually if you could skip through dialogue and combat, Bioware could just make a game with an opening graphic, soundtrack and really well done credits and sell it for $ 60 still, that would be a great profit margin as they could release a game per week!

If you've already heard it, you're not really skipping it since you've seen it all through before. In this way, I'm fine with the skipping of voice acting. The dialog still happens, you just don't need to sit through it being acted out.

I am not, in fact, a writer, but a cinematic designer.

The other group that is so very, very hurt when you callously skip the dialogues.

How do I unlock the x-rated sex scenes then?

So you're saying they should have made DA2 into a movie... and not let us control our character at all. I mean who cares about GAMEPLAY when you buy a videogame.

Looks like shes not much of a writer as well as a gamer judging by the script of DA2.
