You know whats hardcore RPG?

Programming in Turbo Pascal

Programming in Turbo Pascal was fun compared to using punch cards for COBOL programs on an IBM 360.

You're a dirty COBOL programmer? You can go in the corner with those FORTRAN people. Careful, I think they're unhinged.

I'm surprised you don't type in  ALL-CAPS. :P

I had to break myself of the habit. It is considered rude when holding a civil conversation. No knocking the FORTRAN people after BASIC that was my second language.

Do you have a beard, and kinda look like santa claus? That's how I imagine COBOL programmers lol, no offense.

But seriously, kudo's for doing that kind of work in those ancient languages. I think its the equivalent of ancient sumerian. ;)

Now a days kids think its cool to use Visual Basic <_<

So many of you here call yourselves hardcore RPG and Bioware fans, you all loved DA:O so much, yet most posts about DA II I see are negative. You should really be THANKFULL for what Bioware is daring to do with such a lucrative franchise as Dragon Age.
The developers are right to push you out of your comfort zone and bring the franchise in another direction, bring it FURTHER. Do you really want this to tur into another CoD where they cough up a more expensive version of the same game each year? Call of Duty Modern Warfare is a great game, it really is, but if you played MW 1, you have absolutely no reason to play MW2 or Balck Ops - it's exactly the same. I played MW1 and MW2, now I can't event tell which episode was from which game - they are so alike.
Do you want the same to happen with Dragon Age? Where there's a bunch of games which all copy the first and milk the same old formula? For how long can you listen to the same song before you start to get sick of it?

As things are now, you have reason to go back and play Origins after you've played Dragon Age II. Because it's DIFFERENT, not just the same game with outdated graphcs and smaller explosions. Enjoy the variaty.

In short - stop whining and start appreciating. There are too few developers who risk to evolve their biggest franchises - don't force Bioware to make cookie-cutter games like Activision does now.

Actually I call myself Tom.I am not thankful for getting a game that is so so.This may be hard for you to understand but the developers have no right to any part of my life.I dont think they were trying for that. That is just you spouting your opinion which doesnt make it a fact. They created the game for profit..the direction they took was not to my liking.I dont think they will lose sleep over it.I wont preorder another game from them.Took ME3 off preorder. They get to chose how they make the game I get to chose what I buy.
So go ahead and rationalise why people dont like this game but it is just your opinion.

lol you waste your time on these rabid animals, they're mindless and allow themselves to follow any group mind mentality, the more negative (no matter how absurd or untrue) is like yyummy dog snacks to these creatures

bioware is wise to delay ME3 to work on expanding it to a wider audiance as it's current audiance are backstabbing garbage

I admire the fact that Bioware is trying to experiment with the RPG format and establishing their own style, but that doesn't mean a fan is obligated to like it.

Yes, I do find the constant stream of "witty" and snarky comments tiring, but that doesn't mean I haven't found some of the complaints humorous.

"I played DA2 and it sucked so bad! Grrrr! And on my second playthrough it wasn't any better! I've spent hours on end exploring every dialogue tree and opening every crate and I thought it was all stupid! I've created over a dozen characters of both sex and all available skill sets and I didn't like any of them! All the DLCs I've bought for it are crap! It's all EA's fault that Bioware is making games nobody wants to play anymore! All they care about is money!"

If you've read these forums, you know I'm just exaggerating a LITTLE.
