LOL, like the thread says, it's a hard Tevinter Magister.

So, question for the thread.... Should I start collecting everyone's fic in the OP, or are we fine with just the individual posts?

Sounds a good idea to collect them.  Here you are.

Oooh, and I got my new chapter out :)  Hope you like it, I am an evil man
Anyone have ideas on a plausible way to have both siblings survive?  I have my own, but want to know what you guys think?

And... no matter what, the text doesn't want to stay red on my Chrome browser. How do they look?

They look good.  What you can do is put this around the name [color="#ff0000"]  to change the name to red  just make sure you add /color in brackets [ ] at the end.

I suppose I have been busy. :) My stories are pretty short so far, though. My last big project is on "indefinate hold" right now, and is reminding me to write smaller stories before trying the big stuff.

Wierdest part? I release the serious story on April Fool's Day. :P

Continuity question for you folks... did they ever say how long the family had lived in Lothering?

That is a good question, Lupus. I have found nothing as to specific time periods or years spent in Lothering. All I could find was that they moved around a lot, but this could be anytime, while Leandra was preggers, or before they started a family, anything goes really. I hope so anyway, else I have lots to rewrite. lol

There doesn't seem to be a definate date, but sometime before 9:27 Dragon. (It's 9:30 in the prologue, and the PC's codex says Malcolm died "three years ago." Leandra meantions "everything your father and I built" in Lothering was gone, so he must have still been around then.)

Just curious: how do you actually get input on your fics?  I'm sort of in the lack-of-review ghetto, and it kind of drives me (completely) insane, TBH.  What I get are usually raves, but they're kind of sparse, and it's a little discouraging.  Is part of my problem that I'm a writer and not a reader/reviewer?

It's even worse now that I'm not getting my alerts on FF.net, because I used to take solace in the occasional "Favorite Story" or "Favorite Author" alerts.  In fact, I find those a lot more motivating than the actual reviews.

Any advice?

Get me to read the stories. Image IPB

In all honesty, I'm not sure how to get people who might like a story to read it, much less review it or favorite it. I got three reviews over my two parodies in the past few days, which is like a world record for me.

The site may still be having problems with sending alerts, but don't quote me on that. I rarely get reviews but I seem to get alot of hits. Who knows, maybe they read my stuff and hate it, but they are still reading a story I have not updated since last October. I think people like to be acknowledged, so I try to send a thank you note to those that review and favorite and even throw in an A/N to thank them in public. I recently started publishing to DA and that has been quite inspiring, I love the people over there, so creative. I wish I could draw. lol I will read your stuff and review, if I haven't already.

Not that I saw, I put my Hawke's family in Lothering for about 4 years pre-blight.  It just seems it would be hard for a family with 2 mages to stay in one spot for very long, so I made Lothering the longest they have ever been in one spot.  However with only 1 mage you could probably make it longer.

I was under the impression they had been there for ten years. Seven years before Malcolm died and three years after. Trying to remember where or why I got that impression (I'm pretty sure it was from the wiki) but my brain isn't working all that well today.

Yep, okay, here is it, in the entry for Malcolm Hawke:

In 9:20 Dragon, he and his family settled down in the outskirts of Lothering to live their life. He died seven years later, in 9:27 Dragon, and left the welfare of his family up to his eldest.

So it would appear.  It seems odd to me that a family with so much magic would be able to stay hidden for 10 whole years...  Ah well.

There, there, Emp. I've started one in the Keeper thread. You should too, so I can read something other than the dribble that leaks out of my cracked skull.

Oh, I loved this! Maybe all the more so because it echos my own templar Hawke playthrough (although mine is female and she learned her abilities from Cullen - well in my head canon).
Your writing style is wonderful! It was very touching!
