They have no emotions, do they feel physical sensations? Would they feel sexual pleasure, so to speak? If so would they just be indifferent to it? They wouldn't do it for love of course, nor probably to reproduce, since they'd have no feelings for their progeny... If they did, would such children be normal?

If they don't feel pleasure, do they then also not feel pain? If they do feel pain, do they bother to avoid it? They wouldn't be scared on angered by it.

Do they taste? If they do, they would not care if something tastes really terrible, right? They wouldn't care what they eat I suppose, as long as it was nourishing.

Can they smell things?

Tranquil are an enigma.

well, after being rescued near the top of the mage tower one tranquil said something along the lines of "Thank you. That was an unpleasant experience." I think they can still recognize pleasure and make use of their senses, they just don't have an emotional response to it.

I literally cannot wrap my head around the idea of having these sensations, and yet not *feeling* anything about them.

On the note of "Do Tranquil feel pain?", there's a Tranquil (think his name is Owain?) the Circle Tower who requests that you not draw attention to him, as he would like to remain in one piece.

I would think two things on this:

- He does not want to be in countless pieces when he dies (perhaps not due to emotion, but some... intellectual "fear")

- He would feel the pain and does not wish to have it.

I think they do feel pain, and as such pleasure.  However, since there would be no emotional attachment with the partner, you can have true NSA sex with your friendly neighbourhood Tranquil.

I don't think they think of themselves quite so mechanically, in the Mage origin, you can argue with him if he's human, and he makes some valid points about how different people have different temperaments and yet we don't question their humanity.

That's not quite correct. Certain emotional states change the brain chemistry and lead to physical arousal, but you can get the reaction without the emotional state.

the tranquil guy try to flee when the abominations when they invade the tower, he just go back to his job... well basically because he is not scared and have nothing else to do or where to go

but there could be some "technical" problems linked to the lack of desire... so, even if they are eventually willing and feel the pleasure maybe thy just ehm cant

It might also depend if we're talking about two Tranquil having sex or a Tranquil having sex with a normie.

I don't think Tranquil will ever -want- or -enjoy- to have sex. The only reason they would do it willingly is out of necessity or if there is some kind of logical reasoning behind it proving that the act will yield overall benefits. For example, if the Grey Wardens somehow managed to recruit a Tranquil, he'd be perfect for Morrigan's request.

Unless you mean they could warm up a Tranquil, but then we're back to square one.
