You know, now I'm wondering if some Circle somewhere ISN'T using their Tranquil for breeding purposes.  After all, the Tevinter Imperium used to keep geneaologies of every mage; presumably there's some idea of magery being inheritable, then.  Perhaps one can use the Tranquil for breeding experiments...

You push the button, the elevator goes up. It's probably as simple as that. The Tranquil are released from their emotions, so they probably don't much care if their bodies are in a physical state of arousal, but the physical condition requires very little in the way of psychological/emotional stimulus.



So, can they have sex? Probably. Males who have sustained major spinal injuries, with no sensation below the collarbones, can maintain an erection with outside stimulus, and often have no choice in the matter. As my knowledge comes from emergency medical services, and we're just getting our patients onto cots and into the ambulance, I don't know whether this stimulus would lead to an orgasm, but it's possible. All I know is that said stimulus might not be sexual. Low blood sugar, brain injury, necessary physical manipulation, whatever, there's a disconnect between the plumbing and the brain, but the plumbing still works.



I imagine being a Tranquil is kind of like that. Yeah, it's possible, but it's nothing but a physical response to external stimulus.

To answer the OP, I'd say it depends on how deeply the mind is altered.  I'd say if basic instincts, such as eating and survival instincts, are still in place, then it would be at least physically possible.  I suppose we could discuss the Reptillian and Mamalian parts of the brain, but I think that would be getting too scientific...

Maybe tranquil status comes along with a complimentary rubberband around the twig and berries, I wouldn't put it past the chantry.

I think a new source of income for the Circle of Magi could be starting selling "magical rods" to all the widows left all alone and lonely after the war against the Blight. As it's the tranquil that produces the circle's magical items I'm sure they'll know how to use them too.

I just found a secret tome, it's on the 6th basement floor of the tower of the magi. It actually says that only a mage with lyrium infused lips and the power of years of study can reverse the tranquils condition by using all her mana and strength to give him a magical ******. The spell is actually called "fellatio of life."



Tranquils have reported that during the orgasm, which typically lasts half an hour. Their spirit can freely enter and exit the fade and physical world at the same time. After this experience the spirit returns to the body and the tranquil is no longer a tranquil. Unfortunatly the mage performing the fellatio of life has always died of suffocation. The process leaves them too exhausted to either spit or swallow. Only Andraste has ever reportedly been able to perform the fellatio of life multiple times.





So there you have it.

Tranquil are the only ones who can enchant in the circle of mages. That is why there is one in War Camp. That Tranquil is not their represenative to the King. The Represenative is Uldred and Wynn.

I think he meant to question why the circle of magi emissary in your party camp is a Tranquil.
