Is it just me or was that hole dlc just to show what happened if there was no warden if alistar was left to lead alone and what outcome was.

I think that was the stated idea for the "backstory" by the devs?
In any case, the true purpose was I guess to showcase a different style of combat scenario.
Played it through once, I don't think I will be repeating the thing anytime soon. Don't think it was worth the money, but oh well...

DC takes place, if...
The Warden died through the joining, and Alistair took command of the troops defending denerim.
Alistair did do lots of mistakes, he did everything evil(Except defiling Ashes of Andraste and let Zevran go instead of killing him).
He recruited all "evil" armies.(To recruit them it nearly always ended in sacrificing people or killing the other faction)
