Is it possible to have 2 different Romances in DA2? I'm trying not to read too many spoilers but from what I have read the actual romance does not actually happen till late in ACT3. That would lead me to assume that there would not be enough time left in the game to "dump" your love interest and lift  another companions relationship with to the point of an official romance. In DAO, romances happened pretty early if you tried so you could go from one to another with enough convo options and gifts.

Also, I'm not talking about just having sex with the companion because I know that Isabela will at the drop of a hat but I'm talking about have to official "romance"

So I'm just curious, givin what seems to be the timing of romances in the game whether it is possible to get the romance with Merrill lets say and then dump her and get the romance with Isabella.

It has been my experience that you can do it with as many people as possible, but can only pursue a romance with the last person you've boned. Fenris and Isabela are all, "HEY. I have INTIMACY ISSUES." so that's nice and you're free to sleep with other people whether or not you want to pursue the relationship, but Anders and Merrill are very much "hey, we've slept together and it is time to move in, don't you think?" so you either have to break up with them or lock yourself out of future sexing.

In my current playthrough, I slept with Fenris and then Isabela. I just did Fenris's personal quest and it seems like a romance is impossible now (I've tried messing with the console, but nothing seems to work). The game does assume that I'm still in a relationship with him, though. He was the one who comforted me after [SPOILER] and that was after Hawke had all kinds of sex with Isabela. So, no, you don't get to dump people in the third act- the closest I've seen to current romantic companions acknowledging that you've done it with someone else is Anders asking you about Fenris when he propositions you.

So if Merrill says "hey, we've slept together and it is time to move in, don't you think?" and you accept to have her move in, thus completing the romance, can you then kick her out sort of speak and then persue another romance. Or once the move in happens is it too late in ACT3 or just something that cannot be undone?

Too late, I believe. You might be able to initiate a romance if you wait until after you break up with someone to do the mid-stage Questioning Beliefs quest, though. I'm not sure how many opportunities you have to break up with people in Act 3, though, which is when the companions actually move in. Sorry.
