Hi everyone.
Hopefully this isn't too stupid of a question...I recently upgraded my old xbox to a new one. Because I no longer have internet access where I live for the time being (it's complicated), when I started playing DA 2 on my new console obviously my player profile was not on it, so I just started playing as "Player 1". So I bring my xbox to my office in order to get the DLC and my old profile automatically signs in. I download the content and start playing, only to notice that under my old profile, there are no saved games. Saved game is under "Player 1". So I sign in Player 1 and go to my storgage box in Gamlin's house, no DLC. My fear is that it's been assigned to my old profile under which I have no saves, and I don't want to play 10 hours just to find out if that is the case or not! Any ideas? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
New here - help!!

This really should go in the DA2 360 boards rather than DAO boards.
And since I'm on PC for DA2 I'm shooting in the dark so to speak, but I'll try and answer what I can.
You played DA2 using Gamertag 2, but downloaded the dlc on Gamertag 1; at least that's how I am reading your situation.
The save game follows the Gamertag 2 of course, it makes no sense for a save game to somehow copy itself to other Gamertags.
Dlc is shared on a 360. If dlc is assigned to Gamertag 1, Gamertag 2 can use it if it is on the same console. I think you might be looking in the wrong place. Have you tried looking in the room to the right? That's where all the promo items are in the PC version, not in the storage chest next to the desk and Gamlen.

If you have a xbox 360 data transfer kit (usually comes with every new xbox 360) you can easily transfer everything off your old HDD to your new HDD ..... Also all your registered content is linked to your gamer tag that is on your EA account through this website ....

OBakaSama the registered content on this website isn't DLC (at least for consoles). It goes under a separate tab as registered content so unless the gamer profile he is using is linked to his EA account it won't have access to the content. You are right though that this is under the wrong game support forums ...

It's odd. I had this discussion a while back. While my Mass Effect 2 dlc shows up in my tab here, my Dragon Age: Origins dlcs do not show. And they are both on the 360. I never thought much of it until someone brought the issue up a while back.
Although now re-reading your last post GGW, I think you misread what my suggestion to Superdup was.

I read what you said. You're calling the registered content DLC. I play these games on the xbox 360. For Dragon Age II the "registered" content doesn't get downloaded to the HDD like it does for Dragon Age: Origins. It gets unlocked for the gamer tag linked to the EA account. So profile 2 would have to be the account associated with the EA/Bioware account in order for it to allow him to use the registered content.

Right. I sort of see what you're getting at, but it still doesn't address my suggestion of checking the chest in the room to the right.
What you write seems to imply that another Gamertag on the same console cannot use the 'dlc'?

The way the register content seems to work in Dragon Age II is it's hidden on the games code somewhere and needs the unlock key for it from the EA servers to give the person acess and the unlock key seems to be linked to the gamertag on the EA account. The original poster can check the chest but chances are they won't be there.

Right, I see. I still suspect the way things work on the 360 that if a registered user is on the console, subject to licenses, then other users (with a different Gamertag) can also use the content. That's my understanding of how dlcs work on the 360.
Can you verify this, GGW? I might consider picking up DA2 some time down the line (and use some of my dozen characters from DAO).

You're ignoring what I'm saying .... The registered content for the 360 isn't a downloadable content. It doesn't download to the hard disc drive ...
Also all other users on a console can use the DLC of the other users if they have transfered the terms of service and stuff through xbox.com. If not only the original owner of the content can use it.

My bad. I should have written: "That's my understanding of how 'dlcs' work on the 360." I forgot the scare quotes.
Essentially you've verified what I have essentially been saying about sharing content then. There is no problem.
