So I'm not very far into the game yet, I am in the Deep Roads but still in ACT1.  Back when reading through the forums prior to release it was indicated there are unique romance paths for rivalries.  I did however read in a seperate forum that there was really only a fullly realized romance storyline if you followed the friendship path with Isabella.  Can anyone verify this without spoilers.  I just wanted to know if there was as much content down the rivalry path as the friendship path.

I thought the rivalry path was incredibly satisfying, because I felt like the cap was the culmination of 100 rivalry points worth of discouraging her douchebaggery. But as far as I can tell, Isabela's relationship with the Warden is pretty much exactly the same no matter what, except she's meaner to you at the mid-way point if you're a rival. The console only lists one final conversation, whereas everyone else has two. I mean, I'm sure the dialogue's kind of different...anyway.

The guide says you can only romance her as a friend, but the guide says a lot of things and it doesn't really make sense to me why that would be the case. The wiki mentions no such thing. I don't really know. My suspicion is that your romance will be fine, but don't hold me to it (TWSS). I've only tried to romance her as a friend, though.

Yeah I remember David mentioned that he thought there was some of the more interesting romance dialogue they had ever written for the rivalry paths. It was discouraging when a forum poster said there was only fully developed romance storyline for friendship.
