So you get this from one of the Flint Company Mercenaries, judging by the name I would guess it belonged to Sebastian's Mother or Sister, I don't get any special info regarding this or any dialogue related to it, is ths the same for everyone?.

It's just an accessory, it did likely belong to Seb's family but it doesn't have any plot relevance.

Meghan was Sebastian's mother, just to satisfy your curiosity.

May be it is another of those planned plot threads that never materialised in the final game. You'd think it was something that Sebastian might mention or you could give to him and get some meaningful dialogue in return, but sadly nothing.

May I ask how you know that? (I'm horrendously curious.)

Because Sebastian's family was killed and he doesn't have any sisters ^^

:) Excuse me for being pedantic, but did he say he didn't have sisters? (I don't recall it, which doesn't mean anything.) What about a cousin or an aunt?

Those in line for the throne ahead of Goran was killed, which are Sebastian's two mentioned brothers and his parents.
As far as i know Goran is a cousin quite a way from teh throne compared to Sebastian, but with Sebastian out of the picture the Harrimanns could have married into the Vael line.

I never understood the reasoning for the assassinations, why not just try to marry Flora to one of the actual Vael brothers?

Because Lady Harriman is under the influence of a demon and she wants absolute power, not just control one step removed through her daughter. Under normal circumstances the marriage path is the one she probably would have followed but the demon has twisted her envy and ambition into destruction of whatever stands in her way. Besides, how many other people in Kirkwall make the logical choice when deciding on action?
