Hiya.

I can't remove Sebastian from my party after i've completed his quest in act 2. I went to the chantry to talk to him and give him the bow but after that when i try to change the party he stays "locked up" and i cannot remove him, he has the little lock picture next to his portrait in the party selection screen. I don't even like him or want him and i've been playing well over an hour after i completed that quest.

This is really annoying me at the moment, stuck with a rouge that can't even unlock complex chests and moans about the Maker every 5 minutes?

I feel for you, because I don't like him as a person (good character, but if he was real I'd happily feed him to a dragon, assuming dragons exist in the real world I just mentioned)
However, I can only guess that it is a glitch. Maybe talk to the Cleric to initiate dialogue

Tried talking to everyone, nothing!! And now he leveled up but i cannot access his attributes or abilities! the level up arrow is there but when i try to level him up it says 0 attributes and 0 abilities are available. Nice one Bioware, once again

We're aware and working on a solution. In the mean time if you start another companion quest it will fix this

Luke, it'd be really helpful to sticky this, and, to create one central list of all known issues (ideally prioritized by intended fix order). You guys -must- have such a list internally to drive your prod dev work. Just asking you to publish it so we don't have to guess if you guys know about an issue (and/or can avoid issues you already know about).

This happened to me also. I went to an earlier save, made sure he was already in my party before starting the quest ( first time he wasn't and when I entered the mansion the party screen came up with him locked in). Then it worked fine. I completed the quest and was able to ditch him in the chantry.

I had this problem with Merrill after I did her companion quest. The only way I know of solving it is to load an earlier save. I was lucky and noticed it early on so only had to go back about 10 minutes thanks to my numerous save files. Still incredibly annoying though.

SOLUTION:

Doing a companion quest DOES NOT work,(tried 4 of them) but I went back to my estate in Act 2, removed all party memebers from the selection screen and he dissapeared!

Going to a "gather your party" board worked for me when Merrill got locked into my party.
