So....

I'm playing from a game in DAO where I never met Sten.  As far as I know, he was torn apart in his cage (in fact i never knew him, ever).  And I just had four fights with Qunari that had him in it, despite exploding his body into tiny chunks and looting his sweet corpse continually.

On top of that, he sounds nothing like DAO Sten.


What gives?  >

How many times, if at all,  did you fight Sten in Da2?  And what backstory did he have in DAO?

this.  That's not the same "Sten" from DA:O.  As it's a rank, not a name.  "Sten" tells you this himself during dialogue with him in DA:O (more or less.)   you ask him during his dream "why do they call you 'The Sten'?" and he replies "Why do they call you 'The Warden'?"

Sten in DAO never gave his actual name. He was unique in the fact that he was born without horns ( if you read the codexs etc). The hornless qunari were usually used as diplomatic emissaries for this fact.

The Sten is a title for infantry commanders.

yeah the first time i saw Sten in DA2 i was like "oh crap!" then i killed him and fought another one and i was like "OH right!" as it clicked in my head
