I tried to run the runscript addxp command, but not only did it not give me any xp, I'm stuck at 0/10000 ex to reach level 11. Is there anyway to fix it without starting a new game, or going back to a (very) old save? I'm currently about to start the Deep Roads expidition in act 1, if that helps.

Well you used developer's console to do this, and it caused an error. Why would this be an Beta Testing issue?
Try using console to reset your level (use the Generate mage/warrior/thief command to the level you want).
I don't remember the exact command but something like runscript gen_warrior 11
that will re-roll your character to a level 11 warrior. Any bonuses you lost from skill books and such you can just re-add using the various console command as well.

well, I did that. Aside from loosing all my equipment (figured out my stash is safe, but still lost my mage set, even though it was in my stash), I can't choose any specializations... so I either go through the rest of the game with no specializations, or I start a new game.

Some additional info that may or may not be relevant is I was using a save game editor (one that I'm not even sure works with DA2) has the line (index) 16456 (label) "Savegame_can_Levelup (type) int8 (value) -1. The things in parentheses are the column name. I tried setting the value to 1 or 0, but it didn't work. Maybe I'm doing something (else) wrong?

Alternatively you can just start at level 6 using the recreate character command.
Then add 5000 exp at a time, instead of 929295020230203404233 (which probably bumped the Exp to negative, since it is only 4 bytes).
