For some reason, the computer refuses to let NeverWinter Nights (original) run at full frame rate. He is using Windows 7 as the Administrator, and has set NWN to be run under such conditions. What could be causing this? I know that having multiple cores has proven to be a problem for NWN before, so I went onto a few forums to find this fix:
====================
Permanent solution Edit
Set a processor affinity in the configuration file.
To fix it permanently, open your nwnplayer.ini file (it is located in same directory as the game) and in [Game Options] section add this line (or change existing one to =1):
Client CPU Affinity=1
Now the NWN game will always use your second core.
====================
Sadly, that fix did not work. Are there any problems or programs he should be looking out for first?
Need help getting NWN running.

If he has set the compatibility mode to run the game in XP with service pack 2 or 3 and he's still having issues it's most likely a problem with the graphics card not having a driver that supports NWN. If you do a little searching in this sub forum you'll find several threads that discuss the issues folks are having with newer graphics cards not having drivers available that will support this game. I have to go to work right now or I'd try to find one that discusses your friends card, specifically.
