You can only get 2 attribute points once. So you only missed out on 2 points if you didn't read them.

From what people are posting you should destroy all but the last book. That way you get 2 points and the boss fight.

also, destroying them with merrill in your party will basically get you full rivalry. I think its 10 or 15 rivalry per book destroyed.

uh...no.  I had Merrill with me 99% of the time she possibly can be and she was with me when I DESTROYED EACH AND EVERY BOOK and not once did I get rivalry.

If you have full Friendship or Rivalry it dont skift any more ...

you have to destroy five books -one in the chantry -another in the vizcound tower -3rd in a cave in the wounded coast - 4th a cave near the nord exit where the dalish elven live - 5th a cave in the mines
if you do it, the quest will complete and another will trigger - the last book is in dark city destroy it fight the enemies and you will get the achievement, exorcist

PD srry for my bad english xD

I was only able to read on book. The second one I found.

Destroyed one, Merrill got pissed.
Read the next one, Merrill gave me half the friendship I lost from the first one.
Destroyed the third, Merrill got pissed.

Didn't continue the quest past that point. Didn't care enough to lose friendship with Merrill.... Who's the only viable romance option.

I just found my first book in Sundermount cave, at the room where the nexus golem is. I didnt have a quest to go down here I just saw it on the map and went down out of curiosity. Anyway..
I read the first book and got 2 free attribute points. Right after I read the book there was a fight aswell. The fight was alot easier then the one I just had before being able to loot the book.

So what you say here in the thread seems wrong....

hehe i did same thing this morning:) and tbh i rly enjoyed that fight before looting the book.
