Hey, now.   Don't sell Wynne short in that department.  Some men like a more experienced woman.  Just ask Zevran.  Seriously.  If you haven't seen the Wynne / Zevran banter you are really missing out.  :D

*lol* YES. The Wynne/Zevran banters are MORE than worth the trouble of getting them both. And if you're playing a warrior or mage, they're the companions you'd want to have anyway. They're hilarious together.

Further
as a plot device she is a tool, she is being used by Flemmeth and for
all her talk of freedom and her chastisements of the Circle she is
confined in her own prison of her mother’s making. She is no more free
than they are; her cage just seems more gilded. It adds another layer
to her character.

Back to Wynne: she was my mother figure in my
first play through but also a sensible and well rounded person who is
very entertaining and quite focused on her goals. She is selfless and
dutiful and as a player I find those traits admirable; as an aside I
find playing evil/selfish characters very difficult and ultimately
uncomfortable. I had to force myself through a renegade play through of
Mass Effect.

I really like Wynne, attractiveness aside; I
guess if I chose my companions based on hot factor my opinion may be
different but then again I find Leliana to be more attractive and more
compatible with my tastes. Must be that red hair...

Good points. Morrigan is indeed a caged bird of sorts, and though I like her as a character, it's pretty hard to be blind to her faults. Interesting how those flaws came about, though... interesting how she can change when somebody really cares about her and shows her a different way. But Wynne is definitely the wiser and more stable of the two. She doesn't snark and complain when you're nice to people, which I find preferable most of the time.

I'm the same way about the renegade thing... I just can't be evilish and have fun, most of the time. I could only get through my elf-mage "educating" Cammen and then telling his girlfriend about it by justifying it to myself that she would overpower him at first, then they would end up boring each other and being unhappy (which is true, although the "education" is a pretty messed up way to teach them that lesson), but though I enjoyed it in a horrible sort of "yeah, that's the typical misery of teenage love" way I still also felt guilty. That's how I normally feel unless I feel certain that the cruel option really is kinder long-term--I've never once felt bad for killing the smarmy bandit leader in Lothering, for instance. I can only bring myself to do cruel things if I can justify that it makes sense for the character, or that it's for the greater good or something, and even then it just feels bad most of the time.

I mean, it was hard enough getting through the Landsmeet thing and doing what I truly felt was right. Even that ended me up feeling like I'd been punched in the gut and there was a hollow space where my heart used to be.

I like the current direction towards selfishness/ruthless practicality far more palatable than the previous "I eat babies" evil that used to be your alternate option in games, but I just don't enjoy it the way I do being the cliched heroine. I might be a sap, but it's just who I am.

As to hotness, I bet Wynne was pretty cute in her day. Would be interesting to see a mod set 30 years ago; see what she looked like back then. She might have even been a redhead... ;) But seriously, I agree. I was shocked when I heard that redheads face prejudice in some parts of the UK; I've always thought red hair was gorgeous.

Pf, you just don't have an argument against that. :P

I do. Personally, despite how attractive and goofy and awesome Alistair is, after I finished the game my opinion of him had changed and I haven't yet been able to bring myself to romance him since. His actions spoiled his looks for me. And Alistair is the Morrigan equivalent, since no male (except Bann Teagan) in the game is half as hot as he is. Although, Cullen is pretty great in a tortured sort of way. Man, the difference in personality based on whether you play a male or female mage... it's drastic! And when you meet him later on in the tower... but I digress.

So with Alistair, I just leave him at camp... sans clothing. :innocent: Uh, I mean... okay, so I'm not immune to hotness either. But I wouldn't see it as a reason to, for instance, kill Wynne and take the hottie along when taking two mages along is an even better tactical option in most cases. Give them both the good spells and while one is recharging, use the other.

But seriously, on a personal level, all the hotness in the world doesn't do it for me if the personality is crap. Part of the reason I like Morrigan is much as I do is that I talk to her in camp only so I never hear her nagging me to get on with it, I only see her good side. In that respect, I'd say Wynne is much more win than Morrigan, especially once you give her the cold spells, though I have to admit that Morrigan is very nice to look at and much more unique in personality than Wynne.

Yikes, I wasn't serious, of course looks aren't everything, it's not like anyone actually believes that. ;)

Healer is very helpful, much better than drinking potions like water.

I disagree, the cooldown on heal is not only longer than the cooldown on potions, but potions don't share cooldowns with other types of potions. In addition to that potions typically restore more health than heal.

Well, a character stunned in any way, e.g. pinned down by a spider or paralyzed, cannot drink potion, or be healed in any way except a healer's healing; you cannot drink a potion that heals the whole party; you cannot resurrect dead party members during combat without a spirit healer; healing is relatively free.

At end level, a healer with at least 40 magic will be able to heal as much as a Greater Healing Potion with each Heal. "Typically more" is a very rough generalization caused by your own healer's low magic. Since Heal the spell heals more than 2 out of the 4 healing potions, I'd say your statement is incorrect.

My Morrigan has above 45 Magic, not sure as to the exact ammount as I am playing LoL atm and can not check. And yes Potions can technically heal your entire group see as each person can use a potion and if your smart/good you'll stun the spiders/marabi if they pounce you. Also if you think that I'm saying heals are completely useless than you are mistaken, I'm just saying you shouldn't rely on your healer too much because potions are far more reliable.

You are not supposed to kill the mages or templars, if your char is a good aligned one. It's the DEMONS that must be destroyed. My main char is arkane-warrior using full plate and sword (from the forest of the dalish elves, the werewolf dungeon), Morrigan using her necromancy spells, Wynne I found to be extremly useful that with her regen of mana, stamina and health. Remember to set her tackticks to cast these spells at need. Healthpotions have a bad tendency to run out I've found so I at least rely on spells. Alistair were my tank this time and he could do his things efectively much thanks to Wynne.

Anyway I gave Morrigan a gift just after talking with the templar's boss and she did not cause any trouble after that. She had a few comment but nothing that dropped her approval any. After finishing the raw-fade and the nightmares ahe's still on +1. And my mage is a good honest one, opting for balance, both with the circle/templars and the dalish/werewolfs. I think I must be a diplomat! Everybody want to fight on my side!

Teakteah, I think you will have more success if you try the 'harm no innocent' option when talking to the templar boss. That's the Good Boy/Girl answer.
