tried searching on google to no avail . I know in DAO it was good to put a little in STR to let you wear the best light armour . Do i need to worry about that in DA2? I'm level 9 at the moment and it seems all the rogue armour is dex/cunning.
do rogues need STR for armour?

Nope. Rogues only ever need dex and cunning to wear armor.

Warrior: Strength and Constitution
Rogue: Dexterity and Cunning
Mage: Magic and Wisdom

Weapons are usually just the attack stat also. So, Str for warriors, Dex for rogues, Magic for mages.
Shields use both, but often have a lower Con requirement than Str.

No, unless you want to wear your Dragon Armor as a rogue. Then you will need str and con.
