So at the end if you run off to be a terrorist freedom fighter with Anders, he says something along the lines of how he's fighting for a world where you and he don't have to worry about your children being born mages.

I was a little surprised by this, given, you know, that he's a Grey Warden, and the whole infertility thing was such a big deal for Alistair. Now I know that Hawke is not a Warden and so her chances of conception with Anders might be better, but still it strikes me that either Anders doesn't know about this aspect of the taint...or he thinks his magic can overcome it.

Does anybody else get this impression? It's just--the implications are so wild. Anders using spirit healing to father Maker-knows-what kind of Warden-tainted, Fade-touched children. (And if this is after Hawke drank Avernus' experimental potion, then all bets are REALLY off.) I know it'll never happen in the canonical universe, but I'd love to see Anders and Hawke's crazy magicpumped kids throwing down against Morrigan's godbaby.

I took the line as an idealistic expression rather than something literal. It was a nice resolution line in an edition without any other resolution.

Merrill: Aww, how adorable!
Fenris: His eyes are blue.
Merrill: Most human babies have blue eyes.
Fenris: But they're glowing.
Hawke: It's a spirit of temperance. We got real lucky - he never cries!

I had a nice laugh from this.

I think that was the "Idealistic" load you get for fighting for his ideals.....unless he's ready to make some god baby/ abomination baby?

I wonder how much of the Grey Warden's life has Anders spoken to Hawke. She's in for a surprise since he only has roughly 15-20 years left with very little chance of children?

I'd track you both down and turn your children Tranquil as well - take that terrorist family (I jest - mostly)

i doubt he will have kids at all, considering he has had his taint for over 10 years, he is probably heading to the deeproads in another decade or so.

I imagine that it came up at some point.  They have been dating for 3 years by the beginning of Act 3, after all.

It's a lovely dream, but I took his meaning of "children" to be those he and Hawke were working to free from oppression. I don't think my Hawke would want a child around vengeance no matter how crazy she is about Anders...

I think it is the worst idea, and not just because I dislike children. SO glad it can't happen in my little universe, and male Hawke gets a different line :P

I bet Justice wouldn't have to ask them to clean up their room twice.

Maybe if they did to Anders what they did with Connor-- separate him from Justice, then I could consider one of my Hawke's having his kids.

For now, he's just too wrapped up in starting/leading this revolution, so that's enough for now. Having a father like him would be far too dangerous.

I was thinking about that, it might be possible for them to have a child, unlikely but possible. Grey Wardens can have a child but it's very rare and impossible (next to?) if both parents are wardens. Depends what happens with DLC too, if we get to free Anders somehow a child would be nice, otherwise I think Hawke would run from him for a while have the child and hand it over to someone she can trust and return to Anders to watch over him or kill him if she has to.

Can you imagine an Anders that far gone into Justice/Vengeance possession hearing the calling? Oi...
If there is still an archdemon around for the calling to be sent for that matter. Though I think Carver mentions looking for archdemons at the end so it's likely.
