While I liked the character, it saddens me he seems to require way to much micro management. Being a backstabish archer is annoying to setup in tactics. I figured hot to pretty effectively setup the chain skills in tactics, but the flank/backstab stuff can't be set up well.

It's the job of the tank to make sure sebastian is attacking the target from behind.

You didn't get my point. You still have to position him a lot. When the Tank and him are facing the same dirrection and attacking the same target, he isn't attacking a flank.

Target - Tank ---------------------------------- Sebastian

Tank - Target ---------------------------------- Sebastian

Hey look, you didn't have to move Sebastian to get backstabs...I think this was Thomas's point.

:?You still moved the Tank, it is still micromanagement.

Isn't that supposed to be one of the rewards of the game? If you become proficient in tactics and "micromanage" your party to get the most out of them (including whatever shortfalls exist due to limited programmability in tactics) then you get the big numbers, yes?

Yes but when you need to hit a button to hit each attack (consoles lack auto attack) excessive micromanagement hinders you.

ITT--someone wanting to program the entire party to run on autopilot, and be competent.

why not just watch Lord of the Rings or something if you don't want to play?

In before your snarky reply: you were checkmated at: Tank - Target -------------------Sebastian. Move along.

Well assuming you are playing mages, since you're not microing your tank or Seb, then how about not relying on the backstab skill? Try to build up his archery tree to take advantage of BRITTLE, or use Sabotage tree for mass disorient and use your mage to Walking Bomb. Either of those can be done just by tactic alone.

1. Enemy: Health < 50% -> Go to 4
2. Enemy: Boss or Above -> Use this condition for the next tactic
3. Enemy: BRITTLE -> Archer's Lance
4. Continue your tactic here...

or

1. Ally: Being attacked by melee attack -> Use this condition for the next tactic
2. Enemy: Clustered with 3 enemies -> Fatiquing Fog

Nope, point still stood, if you are not micromanaging his position, you micromanage the tank's. Same effect. No checkmate, rather he was the snarky one.
