Best looking or best stats? Best stats for which type of mage? Are you healing only or dps with just heal?

Robes of the Void - Robes by Jean Luc +36 Mana
or
Aequatarian Robes - Demands of the Qun (but that is one of the last quests I believe) +36 Mana and +2 Mana Regeneration
If you want gloves and boots too:
Boots and Gloves of the Overseer - Bartrand's Mansion, Chest During Family Matters quest
And these are just unique items, there's too many possibilities for the random generated equipment for anyone to list them all.
