Did anyone else find this quest hilarious?. I guess it would be a bit less awkward if you're playing as a female character, but as a male, the silence between Donnic, and Hawke at the hanged man was so funny. Donnic thought you were hitting on him, and the whole time there's just these long pauses because you dont know what to say to him, and he just keeps looking at you funny. Meanwhile, Aveline is too chicken to come over and relieve the awkwardness. I had a good enough laugh on that part had I reloaded my save just to see it again.
Playing matchmaker for Aveline.

Bringing Isabela and Merill is funny.

I thought it was such a cute quest. I loved how my Hawke was right dab in the middle and she was just as uncomfortable as Aveline.

Varric also has some nice things to say, worth bringing IMO.

I had Isabela and Varric. Their comments were very funny, especially Isabelas.

I really liked this quest too.
At the beginning I felt Hawke had this sense of responsibility for Aveline (she's a widow, a fellow Fereldan, struggling against a bureaucracy). Add to the fact that she's human, responsible, noble, selfless, able to fend for herself, etc... I thought her the best suitable partner for Hawke (even though my Hawke's heart was with Merrill).
Then Donnic came into the picture and opened the door for a guiltless romance with Merrill. Aveline ended up happy, Donnic was happy, Merrill was happy, and Hawke (for once) was happy. It was a win-win-win-win situation; it was great.

This was hands down one of the best quests ever in a Bioware game. It just worked so perfectly.
And totally agree about the win-win-win-win situation. I was really glad I was able to have a friendship quest that set up a companion with their own romance, and had everything work out happily, especially since she REALLY NEEDED HELP. So much win all around.

Ah, that was a fun one, reminded me of College when I tried (and succeeded, man I levelled up twice in the process) to set up my roommate with a gal he liked.

Donnic kept staring at me, Hawke wouldn't stop smiling waiting in that bar, and I couldn't stop laughing

I just like the fact that Aveline is this strong willed guard captain, yet she cant tell a dude she that she likes him. Oh and what was the item she gave to Hawke to give to Donnic?. It was something she thought would send him a clear message, but Donnic has no idea what it means.

It was hilarious! I was laughing out loud.
Granted, killing people in the wounded coast was a bit annoying. I thought this was going to be the first quest that doesn't involve bashing people. But still, it was hilarious and awesome. I liked Aveline before, but that quest made me like her a lot.

No, Gamer Ftw has the same reaction to girls he (or she?) likes as Stan Marsh. So it was fansquee.

I wasn't amused at all during that quest. I just felt an overwhelming sense of annoyed frustration and desire to get it over with.

I had a blast with this quest ! I like working with Aveline! I even hit on her a few times playing my female Hawke. The hanged man was funny because Donnic stares at you and then later on tells you ,your not his type he likes women with more backbone! I laughed so hard. Here is a shot of Varric in her office . I died when he said this !!
