Hello Everyone

Before I reinstalled windows I copied my whole bioware folder from my documents onto a usb pen drive. Problem is when I have reinstalled windows and dragon age 2 and put the bioware folder back in my documents the game doesnt see my save file. The only option I have is new game rather than resume or load.

Any ideas how to get my existing save seen by dragon age 2?
Help :D

My advice would be to move the old save folder you copied into documents somewhere else temporarily and completely delete the current documents/bioware/dragonage2 folder. Now start the game, start a new game session and quickly make a save. Does the saving work?

If so step 2 is to exit the game, look where it put the save file and now open your old saves folder and copy your last save file from the old folder to the newly created one. Now r-click on that save file and open Properties. Make sure it's not set to read-only.

Now restart the game and see if it picks up on your old save file.

Thanks for the reply
I tried making a new character which works fine. I can save and load these saves at will.
I then tried copying one of my old quick saves into this new character folder and it still doesnt pick it up. Doh.

you probably do not have write rights to your old profile. It happens in the new windows system that each profile is "owned" by specific owners.

Next time take ownership rights of any folder you merged from the old profile and then make sure you have full access (or at least read and write) rights to those folders.

Depending on how its done the permission tree might not propagate to all subfolders, so you have to make sure that option is set when you change the permissions.
