I have installed DAO2 and when the game starts i get the first cutscene with the dwarf and everything is fine. The game then cuts to the part where you are  being attacked by all the mobs and i have no back ground graphics at all. I have only all the characters and the enemies on a jet black screen. Even after you customize your character and start the game properly it is the same. The graphics on the characters is brilliant but it is all on a black background with no other graphics? I have a Geforce GTX460 graphics card withthe latest drivers installed and directx11. Please does anyone have any ideas or can help me at all? Thanks

 This is the first I heard of this problem.  Which driver are you using for your GeForce?  266.58?
If so, then try the 267.24 Beta driver.  It helps alot with DA2's graphic issues.

You can download it from Nvidia in the Beta Driver Section.

If you are feeling daring you can also try the "Editing INF" thing with the newest 267.59 Driver, which is only for 550 and 450 Ti.  I used it on my GTX 580, and it doubled my fps and without any noticible instability.  There is a thread about it yesterday, in this very forum.  Go back a few pages and you should find it.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried the new Beta driver and the problem persists. The models of the characters look amazing but they are just on a black background. Other games i have like Warcraft:Cataclysm run fine on Ultra high graphics. I just can't seem to figure this problem out and as you said earlier no one else seems to have this problem.

Did you install the High Res Texture Pack? Maybe the texture you have is corrupted. Try installing that and turn it on in the configuration tool, if you haven't already done so.

Thanks for your input again JamesX. I have installed the High Res pack and is enabled but still the same. Only the characters and the fire is on a black background. No textures or anything. I have uninstalled the game and reinstalled it again. I am really baffled by this.

No idea what could be wrong either.

Try DirectX 9 and Graphic to Medium? If it let you play that is better than nothing, and gives you something to do while waiting for this issue to be sorted out.

Oh another thing you can do is when you install the .24 beta driver, goto "custom" and make sure you selected "Clean install" it will wipe any settings from previous - including your game profiles.  Might resolve the issue.  

I had to do that when I installed Beta, because my FPS was still bad.  Once I done that I gained 10 fps or so, but got the 8x AA Shadow Error.  So it is a trade off even then    The shadow error goes away if you go 4x AA instead, so it is a fairly good "upgrade"

Hemm.. found this..  Maybe it has some relationship to your issue.
Seems pretty far fetched to be an Aero Theme Conflict.

Maybe it will help.

Thanks for all your help JamesX. This has solved my problem. Running great for me now all graphics on max. Time to put some hours in thanks again for your help and time my friend.
