Does the game do enough to get nominated?

There's quite a few strong contenders coming out this year and I can probably see Mass Effect 3 more likely to be running for various goty awards, and also the highly anticipated Skyrim would be a very strong contender.

I doubt it, there is The Witcher 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Mass Effect 3, and of course Skyrim. Just to name contenders for RPG of the year. You might include Dungeon Siege 3 or Diablo 3 (if it's released in 2011) as well.
If DA2 gets a game of the year, then something went awfully wrong. 2011 is supposed to be a good gaming year (for me, at least), you know, not a mediocre one...

Nope, DA2 won't even come close to the success of The Witcher 2 or Skyrim.

Skyrim will be the GOTY no doubt in my mind.

ME3, Witcher2, and Skyrim are serious contenders to say the least.

Anybody hear anything about Kingdoms of Alumar ? It is supposed to be out at the same time as skyrim.

For information, here's what's supposed to come out in 2011 besides the ones you mentioned:
- Batman: Arkham City
- Alice: Madness Returns
- L.A. Noire
- Portal 2
- Max Payne 3

It's looking like an amazing year to be a gamer, so I'll be woefully disappointed if DA2 turns out to be GOTY-material.

Skyrim? Yes, it'll take GOTY on some sites but come on, they've taken the classes out of that game. If you thought DA2 was not an RPG and think Skyrim is, you're mistaken. Combat will be terrible as well like with all of Bethesda's games.

classes didn't even matter in Elder Scrolls anyway because your character develops into a class you play mostly as. Man you really don't even know what you're talking about. The classes were only there to help people select a set of major and minor skills for a quick character and gameplay preference. Hell I NEVER picked a class in the Elder Scrolls games I always created my own.

Coming from a Console gamer and you LOLING at The Witcher 2 makes you look incredibly naive since you probably don't even have a PC that can run a new game let alone never even played the first Witcher game.

Typical reaction from a console gamer. No offense to other console gamers.

Kingdom Under Fire II like DA2 has no chance of being goty 2011, I was just wondering what reasoning people who say this is the best game ever would use to support this as goty.

Remains to be seen. I had high hopes for DA2 and was a bit disappointed. As I'm a bit of a pessimist, I would not wager on The Witcher 2 or Skyrim living up to their promise.

That's a lot of big games, which will more likely be candidates/nominees for goty.
