Witcher 2 has quicktime events for one, who knows what other changes they made?
ME3, get's oversimplified! Or the ending sucks or something like that.
Skyrim, might just suck, more wooden characters speaking the same stuff as the next guy, without any PROPER dialogue options. Plus, the caves might get even more boring.
Deus Ex 3, linear gameplay, I heard the levels are quite the "pipe-dreams".
LA Noire, might just fail if the gameplay isn't that great or the detective work is done poorly.
Shogun 2, it's strategy game. Autofail @ GOTY. Strategy games can't get that! 
Battlefield 3, because they are drumming it out to be more like BF2, fans get overly excited and then notice that it isn't BF2 and they freak out.



But I doubt DA2 will win the game of the year award. It's still a good game in my books.

I think you need to make up better excuses for why those games will suck.

Here is one! They are not out yet! we will not know till they are released which indeed means they could suck

Never really cared much about ‘Game of the Year’ always seems over the top, like a poor man’s Hollywood Oscars.

So many potentially good games coming out this calendar year, why not enjoy as many as you can rather than pick holes over them?

LOL in what? How bad it was without mods that pretty much made it into a completely different game? In that case yea Oblivion easily wins there.

in GOTY, obviously. GOTY being figured out by reviewers and people who get paid to rank games.

Oblivion would destroy DA:O in a GOTY race. It's just far, far more popular. Personal taste notwithstanding, put up a poll at say, Gamespot, or Gamefaqs about DA:O or Oblivion being better. Watch DA:O get annihilated.

I have this impression, too. But I thought the same of Bioware once. But I'm giving CD Project every chance (already preordered the game).

People who think that th Witcher 2 is going to suck are seriously delusional, or simply dont know a thing about the game / havnt done any research.

Its nothing like the first game for starters, so you cant make judgements on it because you didnt like the first one.

Yes there is. EA pays some minor review site to award it as their GOTY, and then they can sell a GOTY version.

The Witcher 2 may not turn out to be GOTY material, but it certainly won't be LOL material. Everything they have revealed so far sounds promising to say the least.

Skyrim... *shrugs* I don't so much hate Bethesda games as I'm indifferent to them. Not that they should care - one gamer less will buy it and they'll only sell like 999.999.999 copies of their sandbox RPG with a huge world, vanilla characters and awful dialogues and writing. Good for them. Modders will make mods with sex, lightsabers and motocycles and players will be more likely to bear stupid mud crabs, terribad level scaling and pod people NPCs.

Mass Effect 3 I suspect will be a smash hit and a great game. It also comes with all the anticipation of the end of a trilogy, and ME2 has been something of an event. If the game will be as good as the second one and positive word of mouth will spread after the release, Bio might finally get to their "10 million copies" target.

It's getting consistently solid reviews, 7.5-8.5, but it's not going to be winning any reputable GOTYs.

And by reviews I mean legitimate websites or publications, not the nerd rants I'm seeing everywhere.

Even Final Fantasy XIII got RPG of the year nominations and it's a horrible game and not even an RPG, so I guess DA2 will at least get some RPG of the year nominations. I doubt it will win many GOTYs. I think it's a great game but the critics won't agree that it's better than anything else coming out this year. Mass Effect 3, Portal 2 and Skyrim will be the big winners this year.

Lol HC nerd rage rants are ten times more entertaining and insightful than about anything a casual much less spoonfed can write.

An 80 on metacritic means no chance. The vast majority of awards are given out by the same people who make these reviews. That coincided with the fact there are more hyped AAA games getting released this year then average with one of them, Shogun 2, already dominating DA2 in critical praise. It's not happening.

TW2 will win when DA2 does.

I know this speak is heresy on the forums but I do think once ME3, Skyrim, LA Noire, Uncharted 3, and GoW 3 roll around I think these 5 will fill the lists, but here is hoping that a new IP will come around and blow us all away, though that would seem to be LA Noire.

Anyway all this speculations gets us nowhere. For all we know, all these could come and the developers completely botch them ...but I doubt that.
