1- Does DA 2 models (elf and qunari) have any problem with DA:O animations?

Posted Image

qunari shape is very similar between DAO and DA2 so the animations work pretty well. DA2 elf shape is... well, it's what it is, so if trasferred intact it'd have the same animation issues elves have in DA2 (waddling like the "i'm not drunk officer i swear" ducks, and whatnot)

2- Does DA:O support "scale with level" system of DA 2?

DAO has the material scaling system -- if you put an item in chest or sell it to vendor, the item's material (and consequently the base stats) are adjusted to player's level when the zone is loaded. It doesn't include scaling item bonuses.

3- Is it viable to mark companions according to romance or personal quest completion?

If you mean DAO there's flags which indicate whether companion had sex with the player and what stage of relationship they're currently at (warm, friend, maxed out)  Companion quests typically have their own flags as well although i'm not sure if these are transferred to Awakening saves and onward.

4- How hard to apply DA 2 human armors to DA:O elves? (Does a simple rescale works?)

Not a simple rescale since unlike what people tend to say the outlines of elves and humans in DAO aren't actually identical (the humans are stockier without making elves look terminally malnourished like DA2 did) but yes, it can be done as the picture shows.

Thanks for replies Tmp.

I guess without proper scaling system, DA:O ain't suitable for DA 2 style companions as they are more item dependent in DA:O. Also if you think lack of armor runes in Origins things get more hard to keep companions in same armor for a long time. (It's been a long time I've last played origins so can't remember how many armors you change on companions. As I usually boost my gold with save game edit my companions probably used less outfit then normal players.)

Still it is good to have an opportunity to get those nice looking things in DA:O, I will probably give it a go if you'll decide do release those as a mod. If you can't scale items scale your companions (you gotta love save game edits) Posted Image

Oh how happy I would be if you could get that head model for Sten and wardens armor from DA2 him... It would just make DAO even better that what it is now :D

Gosh, I love the new Qunari design. It would be so great to have it in DA:O!

Incredible. You even left him hornless, as it should be!:o
Wondering if it's possible to give him the dreadlock hairstyle too?

EDIT: NVM, I see it now.

This is simply amazing. Keep it up! It may convince me to replay Origins when you're done with this. :)

TMP your one of my favorite modders anyway - tucked hair, the pants, etc. For what it's worth, mark me down as begging shamelessly at your door to see this as a mod someday. The armor on Alistair was gorgeous. Okay, so I'd steal it for my own Warden if I could, but a lot of DA2 reminds me of the Sacred Ashes and the original Warden trailers. That armor is one of those things and I really like the dog texture a lot better in DA2. I bow to your mad skills in doing this. ;)

The change to qunari body shape means the existing meshes need to be adjusted to match, so it's taking a while. Mostly done now, though. On the upside the mage qunari and others you get to meet in DAO should be changed as well to DA2-like appearances, so hopefully it's worth the extra wait.

Definitely.  I'm excited about this. x3

Would you be able to turn your Warden into a Qunari with this mod?

There are Qunari mages in DA:O?

Aye; Marjolaine's bodyguards are all qunari, and include two mages.

Not with this mod specifically. But you can change your character's race by editing the save game, and once edited it should take advantage of the updated appearances just like the other qunari in the game.

Aha, you mean those two bald giants in there. Now I remember.

Also, I was wondering.... since you will port the qunaris too, does that mean every one of them will be half-naked like in DA2? Or do they appear like this only when you take off the armor?

That being said, I am eagerly anticipating the relase! Now with the Warden Armor the Sacred Ashes experience will be finally complete.:o

The armour shows on the qunari the normal way, the half-naked appearance is technically the "nude" model. Wasn't sure if i wanted to override all appearances to the DA2 approach, especially since Ferelden is also quite bit farther south --and colder-- than Kirkwall. On the other hand nearly all of the qunari you meet in DAO are technically Tal-Vashoth mercenaries. Not sure how plausible it is for all of them to go around in massive armour custom-made for their size... that must be pretty expensive.

I've also added a custom item as part of the mod; it functions similar to how robes do -- gives Sten the half-naked appearance with the Qun pattern, but allows to equip regular gloves and boots underneath without changing the visuals. For these who'd prefer this sort of the look.

Okay, so looks like Isabella and Flemeth are already taken care of. TMP is working on Sten, the rest of the Qunari, and the Warden Armor (and who knows what else!).

Is anyone working on the elves, especially the named ones (like Merrill and Merithari)?

Is there a way we can get separate mods so that, say, only the Qunari are effected? I hate the new Elf models.

I assume they would be separate mods since it looks like the Qunari one is almost done (squee!) and I haven't heard any word on one even started for the Elves

Yes, the qunari module is a stand-alone so it can be used without affecting appearance of the other races.
