The Isabela video is finished! What originally started out as a bad idea quickly became fun, interesting, and challenging. Here are a few of my runs with her in the party. Also in the video: the dirtiest Merrill mage nuke I have ever seen in my LIFE.

I'm re-rolling a Vanguard (manHawke this time), and I can't decide between a Zerker auto-attack or an ability spammer. I finished my FemHawke auto-attack Zerker and had so much fun with it, I kinda want to do it again.

A question did you just give your companions hp? how they have souch high hp and big mana/stam pools and still do ok damage. Nice video but I am suprised to see all you companions with same hp as you and big mana pools and still able to do ok damage.
Sort of. The health bar size is relativistic, and I don't have that much HP (Merrill and Anders both have more than I do, I think). For Merrill, I go MAG/CON, for Anders, I go MAG/WILL/CON, for Varric I go DEX/CUN, and for Isabela, I've been going DEX/CUN with a few points thrown toward CON and WIL. I think a baseline 20 CON would be good for her, so that's what I'm going for.

Love the vids! I am curious though, do you ever use Mighty Blow or Scythe, or do you just have them for pre-reqs for Sunder?

I use both, but not in a straight up 'GRR, DAMAGE!' kind of way. I mostly use Scythe for mobility/interrupting/positioning purposes, and to take out things like Archers quickly so I can get right back into engaging the immediate threats. I use Mighty Blow for interrupts and knockdowns, not damage.

The music is DJ Tiesto's remix of the Pirates of the Caribbean theme, though I kind of see how you got Gladiator.

The berserker build looks a lot of fun with the speed and everything I think I will do a run with my mage then try out this warrior after. First time I have seen a non squishy Isabela good job on her. She kind of like Zevern in DAO the squishy one only if you do not build her tactics and stats correctly.

Elixir of Heroism just raises your level doesn't it? So you don't get to take two abilties on the same level as far as I understand it.

So helping a demon (Torpor) is bad like you said, but reading a tome of ancient evil blood magic is okay?

1. I meant get 1 skill on your level-up, and an additional skill with the Elixir of Heroism.
2. Victimless crime, not the same as letting a demon inhabit a kid with the power to kill people in their dreams, if you really want to take it there. Moreover, it was a joke. I was joking. I do that sometimes.
3. I explained how to get Ser-Pounce-A-Lot a few pages ago. He's Anders' best offensive weapon.

But that's not how the Elixir of Heroism works? If you use it you gain a level, so you'd be level 19 then right? You don't get an additional skill point by itself.
Number two, fair enough
You could have just told me Ser Pounce-A-Lot doesn't exist, would have saved me flipping through the pages Ctrl+F-ing and reading the nonsense

Nice vids. It never gets old seing mobs explode.Did you set up Isabella's Merciless Strike to use on Staggered Targets? and did you see any good results from it?
Yes, I have her set to do it on staggered Elites.
Also, 'good results' is an understatement; she either one-shots or near one-shots every single Elite I stagger. The first clip 2ith the 2530 is from Merciless Strike off a stagger, and skip to 1:46 and watch her absolutely mollywhop Cor Blimey (the Dog Lords boss) off my stagger. Tactics from the situation:
Hawke engages Elite, lands stagger
Merrill
Enemy: Target rank is Elite or higher - Use current condition for next tactic
Enemy: Target of Hawke - Hex of Torment (Upgraded to Death Hex)
Isabela
Enemy: Target rank is Elite or higher - Use current condition for next tactic
Enemy: STAGGERED - Explosive Stike (Upgraded to Merciless Strike)
If I catch an Assassin pre-cloak, he's a ****ing goner.
That is a similar setup to what I use for her, Hawke (if DW rogue), and Sebastian Chain type attacks. I also add, if I can spare the Tactic, is one for using it always on Boss or Above. First one might be low, but from the 2nd onward, it will be hitting max surely as it cooldowns and the chain builds up. I think bosses should be hit it by it as much as you can.

Anyone remember the old EGM April Fools cheat for fighting Ryu's Master on Street Fighter II? It was fake but great. Funny thing, he turned real for Street Fighter 4.AreleX wrote...
And what fun is there to be had in that?! Come on, you guys didn't love the old days before you could instantly confirm things on the internet, and how someone's friend's cousin's sister's boyfriend's dog told you about this awesome cheat that didn't really exist? I honestly had no idea so many people would be confused by it. I don't know if it's their fault for not realizing it's a joke, or my fault for taking advantage of their trust. Nobody wins!
I'll make the Elixir of Heroism entry easier to understand. Thank you for the heads-up.

Old school fake cheats and their frustration are relics I miss too. You should watch GameTrailer's Pop Fiction, the series takes old school cheat/myths and tries to test them.AreleX wrote...

At lower levels, I think it is necesary to learn when to turn on or off Berserk. Due to lacking the Reaver passive at lower levels, you shouldn't have it on 24/7. Hayder's Razor +24 stamina helps too.Zhijn wrote...

Check my low-level Berserker Vanguard videos for how I play around 8-10. I get +stamina gear, and use the Belt of Unknowing (found in the Deep Roads) pretty much the entire game.
And as for Whirlwind, I'd say no. Too high of a stamina cost, too many points needed to invest to make it useful for this build, too many opportunities to uttely destroy an aimlessly meandering Anders. You'll be fine with Scythe, Mighty Blow, and auto-attacks boosted with Cleave, Sacrificial Frenzy, Berserk, etc.
