First off I just want to say this is a great guide and thank you for taking the time to write it. I was not interested in playing the warrior at all until I saw this build. Now I love the warrior!!
In the tactics you have posted for Anders why do you have him using vengeance so much.
The only offensive spell I see (I could be missing one) is chain lightning. Which doesn't really need the 10% damage boost since he will be hitting staggered enemies with it. Also I am pretty sure that Swift Justice is still active even though vengeance is not. I apologize for the (possible) noob question but I went over the whole guide almost ten times and just cannot figure it out.
On a side not you have Martyr and Chain lightning setup in your tactics but in your Level-up guide you did not put them in there. Are those just abilities that get added after level 18?
Also in Varric's Level-up guide you have:
1. Pinning Shot
2. Bursting Arrow
3. Rapid Pinning Shot
4. Disorienting Shot
5. Blindside
6. Truce
In order to get truce you have to get Armistice first. Was this just a typo error and Truce needs to be replaced with Armistice? And is Truce still a necessary ability to be added at a later level or should it just be ignored? How useful is Disorienting Shot for Varric? There doesnt seem to be any abilities from the other party members or Hawke that take advantage of disoriented enemies. Or is this ability just for the added damage to the ability and the -50% defense from disorienting a foe for Hawke to just swing on?
Thanks for the response and please excuse my noobness/ignorance.

And on an unrelated note:
Anyone know how to delete a post?

Also, using Martyr, the CD on ALL your spells is reduced. Per a bug with modal requirements, you don't need to be in Vengeance to use Martyr, but I have it anyways, because a lot of people take issue with 'cheating'.

Chain Lightning on average every 10-12 seconds
Heal every 16-24 seconds
Haste every 28-32 seconds
the tactics are from my tactics guide, Arelex was just too "busy" to change the builds to their updated status as well.
click the advanced tactic link in my sig for the build

I had no issues with using Berserker early game, if you give me more detailed information as to what is or isn't working, I can probably help you better.
Thanks. Just got to level 11 last night. The "Endless Berserk" upgrade cuts your usage of stamina from 4 per hit to 2 per hit. At the same level Anders got Great Haste. The two of them together seemed to help. I'm encouraged enough to complete this playthrough. I'm using SuicidalBaby's posting of teammate guides along with your guide.

Kind of wished I didn't start the game as a 2hdr warrior. I'm sort of afraid this is going to ruin me for all other classes in the game.
Thanks, Arelex.

It has rekindled my passion to play again, also b/c a sergeant has been playing it. aroun me So, friday night it is on.
I did some experimenting myself, but this has saved me from painstakingly doing the rest. I beat it as an archer Rogue and so lost interest after that until last week as Warrior is obviously a slow start class.
One question though: is it really worth it to have so much stamina as opposed to more STR?
The increase when I tested it out didn't seem significant, about 15 dmg at lvl 50 and 100 WIL.
Maybe it has a greater effect at lower levels? Or I don't suppose it's unmitigated damage?
And someone mentioned Haste stacked in the thread to cut slaying the high dragon fight to as short as possible, but with what? Itself?
It just seems it is obvious it stacks with other abilities, like the ones Warrior has. But as to whether it stacks with itself I have been wondering for Act I.

Love this build. Playing the game on
nightmare with Isabela, Varric and Anders...my 2hdr Hawke went from
"meh" to a delicious little engine of destruction. Might be a little
too good at it, accidentally mistargeted something and cleaved+scythed
right into my own party a few times. Obliterated everything. Oopsies,
lol.
Kind of wished I didn't start the game as a 2hdr warrior.

Thanks, Arelex.
You're very welcome, catofnine. I'd suggest swapping Isabela for Merrill if you're playing on Nightmare, for less...'incidents'. The other three, even though they are ranged, still do everything in their power to screw you over, but it is significantly less with all ranged companions.
The fun won't be ruined, trust me. I've written guides for all three classes, and I think the others are actually even more fun than this one, so you've still got things to look forward to!

Ha, poor Izzy. She got plowed up one side and down the other by my Hawke...and not in a good way. Took me a while to figure out how to weave her in and out of Hawke's killzone. Just when things are clicking I meet mr. Ancient Rock Wraith. There's enough going on in the fight without having to micromanage Izzy. Think I am going to have to suck it up, go with your suggestion to use a double mage set at least against this boss. Still having a blast wrecking face with a 2hdr though. And I'll definately check out your assassin build next (rogues are my first love.)

Berserker Vanguard - Mach-5 Massacre Reloaded
As soon as I get some time to play around with the patch, and make sure everything is still in order, I'll update the guide with new stuff.
And catofnine seems to be in luck! This new patch is totally removing friendly-fire from Warrior's basic attacks, which opens up a whole WORLD of party possibilites for this class, since it is much less focused on damage through abilities (which are FF capable). I've already got tons of ideas, and now it's just a matter of sifting through them + testing when it's released.
I'll even make a special Isabela build, just for you and the other adorable masochists that want to torment themselves with sub-par companions.
<3

There were some notes released in the certification thread. I am none too f**king happy with a lot of the changes listed so far.
At ALL.

Anyway what's bugging you about the changes? I don't see anything big (well, expect would be the right word), just some minor tweaks. Well, some tooth blunting for enemies and beefing their hp might make the battles longer and less threatning, but we'll see.

i just wanna know, what are your thoughts on assault? because to get upgraded scatter AND upgraded shield bash (for auto staggers) would require an extra point into shield defense. if we go upgraded shield bash, and upgraded assault, we can *still* follow the same talent progression of this build (to get the good stuff faster). plus with the new patch, multiple hits appear to be better. this way, i thought maybe we can take better advantage of the new(?) 100% disorient chance of pinning shot (or any disorienting talent). i have tried upgraded assault and it's okay, but i haven't tried upgraded scatter.
sorry for the long post.

Not sure how it fits into Arelex's auto-attacking build, but in terms of warrior spike damage there's nothing that compares to assault. Scatter is really good at clearing out groups of enemies (and destealthing assassins if you do it right).
Post-patch, (unless a new berserker build can get close,) assault and cleave will most likely be limited to CCC damage, but will probably still be useful.
