I think it's most likely DA3 imports from DA2 but the save file imports choices right? if the warden appears in DA3 where is the data for his likeness going to come from?

i think that Dragon Age 2 is actually going to be considered the first in the True Series

If Bioware makes a canon Warden watch even the supporters of DA2 turn on Bioware.

Some people will never turn on Bioware. No matter what they do.

Anyway, the Warden's story is probably getting a final close in DA3. Either dying or disappearing for good. I'm guessing Bioware are planning to do it quite emotional. I just hope not a zombie or ghoul.

I think killing off the Warden in DLC for DA2 would be a good option. That way all the DAO I <3 the Warden fanbois won't all buy DA3 and then cry when the Warden is killed off. They'll all know before hand.

I like a few of my Wardens quite a bit, more so than Hawke, but if it means pushing the story forward I'm all for it.

Well we all know that Grey Wardens don't live happily ever after. At one point they go to the deep roads and die. Unless someone finds a cure for the darkspawn curse.

I keep thinking to myself that they could have done the whole Dragon Age 2 story 20 years after the Blight or so.  Add in 10 years for the story to unfold and voila the Warden is now dead.

The whole refuge of the Blight part of the story would have to be changed but I think the majority of the story could have happened in a similar way.

I was wondering this too. Does importing a save from DA:O import the Warden's appearance as well? If not, then there's only two options: Either he/she doesn't physically appear in DA3 (just mentioned), or when we create a character for DA3, we'll have to import a DA2 AND a DA:O save to get the appearance right.

Does anyone know if the appearance was imported? Devs, maybe?

From what I understand it was just choices. If by the end of the series the Warden is still just missing somewhere I will be disappointed.

I can definitly picture The Warden going out in a hail of glory during some massive pivotal battle.

He'll be like Revan, they'll bring him back only after they make Dragon Age Online. ;)
