I could not find a specific question for this answer anywhere so I decided to post in the tech support, even though it is not exactly tech support I guess? Well maybe it is, but anyways, thx in advance for any help.

PS3 = Roomamte's
DA2 Sig ed. disc = Mine
Each have seperate EA accounts

*I go and buy a new PS3 in a few months*

1) Will I have any of my old characters/save files?
2) Will I still have S/E items to use on a new playthrough? (as long as I log in with my same EA account)
3) Trophies lost or still there?

*Roommate buys standard DA2 disc in a few months*

Same Q's are 1-3

Thank you :o

You will have to back your save files up to a flash drive and install on the new PS3 or if you have PlayStation plus you can save them online and access them from your account. You do have to have a different user ID for the PS3 not just a different EA account. Each trophies are linked to your Playstation ID and account not your EA account. I am not sure how unlocks work but I would assume they are linked to your Playstation ID like the trophies.

Creating new users and Playstation accounts are easy from the main menu. You will have to create a new user and create a Playstation account for yourself on your roommate's machine to have trophies carry over and maybe unlockables. If you pay the 49 bucks for a year subscription to playstation plus you can also move your saves online and access them from your playstation account when you set up your new machine and enter in the log in information for you PS3 account.

As long as you put your same Playstation Network account on your new system and link it to your same EA account, all of your signature edition stuff will be unlocked and available when you play on your new system. I just tried it out yesterday

Thx guys!

Yes, on my roommates machine, I already have my own PSN id and my own profile(which does not matter I assume)?

Speaking of log-in profiles, if I were to delete mine before buying a new machine, would that get rid of all my save files? I guess I will just put it all on a flash drive 1st of course like you mentioned.

Actually one thing to be aware of. I was going to switch hard drives today and DAO saves will not export unless you have PlayStation plus account. The issue was some exploit to gain DLC by exporting saves. So you can only back up DAO saves to your PlayStation plus online storage. A system back up will not save your DAO files.

My PS3 is showing I can copy DA2 saves to my flash drive though. Unless you have Playstation plus you are kind of SOL on copying DAO saves to the new system. You should be fine with DA2 saves though.

Oh ok,...so even with a flash drive it won't work if I get my own machine?
Perhaps I will offer to buy my roommates then :/  Don't see much use for PSplus atm

If you start the DA2 file on your roomie's machine and then save it to a flash drive, you can bring it over to a new system, though. That way you do the import off the old system and play on the new system. Also, make sure you keep your signature edition redemption code, because you'll need to re-enter that on the new system or you won't be able to play the saves you put on your flash drive.
