definetly not the worst for me ... NWN was my least favourite bioware game , the only one i didnt think was excellent.

in order of preference not including DA2 as i want to complete it twice before deciding. Its very close though as i loved them all except NWN.

1)DAO
2)KOTOR
3)BG2
4)jade emmpire
5)mass effect
6)mass effect 2
7)BG
8)NWN

Carth, and the lack of companion influence was for me the worst parts of KOTOR, that and the last minute ability to switch from Dark to Light, light to dark,  during the conversation with Bastila ~ WTF? Now Bastila, HK-47 and  Mission Vao are still some of my favorite characters from any game, so I still like KOTOR. There are also some nice mods that allowed you to turn people, kind of ~ so it still ranks rather high on my list.

LOL

Don't get me wrong, I sitll have the game lol.. Fem Dark Revan and Bastilla Chan love ending was awesome and pretty much my staple playthrough..HK MADE the game damnit lol.. but Carth totally ruined the rest of it... his spectre of whiny voice acting looms over like a cloud of farts at a dinner table

I would have to say KoToR was my wosrt one. I haven't played the BG series in so long, I forgot. Never got on the NWN wagon either..

What killed it for me, was Carth Anassi.... like really killed it. I would not have him in my party, and made the wookie kill him everytime! The only reason why Kaidan didn't kill it for me in Mass Effect was, that once I killed him on Virmire, I knew I would never hear his whiny voice again.

But DA2 being the worst game??? No, I think it is because people were hoping for an exact clone of DAO with a new story line.

you don't really have to talk to carth, you know...

though I don't know what you found so bad about him. he was well-written.

Honestly, yes. This is the worse BioWare game I've ever played.

Yeah, I thought Jade Empire was crappy but DA2 takes the cake.

I've enjoyed all of the Bioware Games I've played; the one I had the hardest time playing through was Neverwinter Nights. It dragged a bit and I was in love with Baldur's Gate 2 at the time and wanted it to be like that. DA2 isn't my favorite but it's engaging. I have no problem sitting down for a couple hours and playing. Kind of surprised at the Jade Empire dislike I'm seeing; that one was one of my favorites. Not a beautiful game to look at but quite enjoyable story and combat..at least for me anyway.

Most unpolished game for me. But in all seriousness I would say yes. I like the game I would give it an 8 but every other bioware game I would give it a a low 9 to a high 9. From a scale of 1-10. Nice story and all but rushed an unpolished doesn't excuse it. Like it better than Origins, but Origins is still a better game.

Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn > Baldur's Gate > Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic > Dragon Age: Origins > Neverwinter Nights > Jade Empire > Mass Effect 2 > Mass Effect > Dragon Age II > Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood.

Close but no cigar. Sonic always wins.

I got to say that its a good game, but compared to all other Bioware Games i have played (didnt play Jade Empire und Dark Brotherhood only the first Never Winter Nights is worse. Never Winter Nights 2 is great, but the first NWN sucks because its a Diablo with D&D Rules.

I have only played a few BioWare games but I thought this was better than Knights of the Old Republic and Dragon Age Origins, which were also both good games.

I think anyone who puts KotOR above Origins is trolling. But that's just me.

BG
NWN <- crappy single player campaign, but the years of PW play made up
DA2 <- decent game just a good margin below the others.

"Worst" implies more negativity than I feel for it, but I'd say NWN is my least favourite Bioware game. Decent enough, but it needed quite a bit of modding and patching before I could really say I liked it.

I liked them both similarly. KotOR had a superior storyline, with an excellent plot twist worthy of a full-fledged Star Wars film. Dragon Age: Origins, however, was a richer, deeper gaming experience overall.

The problem is, though, that the twist is the best part of the game, and once you know it, it takes away alot of the drive to replay. I mean, I loved Juhani and Jolee and some of the other characters - but everytime I sit down and try to play it again, I get struck by fatigue before I even finish Taris. And I can't bring myself to ever go back to Manaan. KotOR2, on the other hand, I can replay again and again.

I think my earlier list was wrong. On reflection, I prefer Jade Empire to Knights.

I ranked them as effectively equivalent, and for similar reasons.

As I play more of DA2, there are things I really like, and make me want to rank it higher (the basic design of Act I is great - I love that you're just set loose in the city without any real direction).  And some of the things I've complained about aren't as bad as I'd feared (the paraphrase system in DA2 is vastly superior to anything found in ME or ME2).  And I'm getting used to the speed of combat, so while I'm still not finding it at all tactical, combat isn't the chore it was in ME2.

But there are also things I uncover that make the game considerably worse.  The level of polish in DA2 is shockingly low; this is easily the most unfinished BioWare game I've played.  Characters will target the wrong enemies even though their targeting circle says otherwise.  NPCs will talk about things that haven't happened yet.  The game just isn't well assembled.  And then there's the features about which I was wary, and they've turned out worse than I expected.  The companion armour situation is dreadful.  We knew in advance we couldn't change the appearance of the armour, but we're also extremely limited in our ability to customise its stats, and that's contrary to what the developers told us.  And then there's the missing features.  The moveable targeting camera just isn't there, despite being in demonstration builds.

I think I'm happy with my ranking.  There's a chance I will ultimately move DA2 ahead of Jade Empire, but there's no way it will ever find it's way into my top 5.

oooo, ranking in lists!! Here's mine.

In order of decreasing awesomeness:

1. Baldur's Gate 2  Shadows of Amn
2. Dragon Age Origins
3. Mass Effect
4. Baldur's Gate 1
5. Neverwinter Nights 1
6. Mass Effect 2
7. Dragon Age 2
8. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (that's actually not because of the quality of the game, but I abhor Star Wars)

I'm surprised more people didn't absolutely adore NWN, it was the first game ever than made me feel...EPIC!! It was awesome. BG2 blew me away in its own way, but that was also the first RPG I ever played and I had never seen anything like that before, so I was stunned and shocked by the awesomeness of it all and couldn't go to my lectures for 3 straight months, I almost had to re-do the entire semester because of it!!! Thank god that now the only thing that can happen to me is get fired when I disappeared for 4 days to play DA2. heh.

if we're talking all-time games by any studio then I would insert Neverwinter Nights 2 before Baldur's Gate 1 and Icewind Dale before Star Wars.  Actually I would insert everything I've ever played before any star wars game but that's just me.

KoTOR was the FIRST game I played from BioWare, and it was hard as I wasn't prepared for the puzzles and decisions.

Mass Effect 2 was weakened a bit but still good...

Never played Baldur's Gate...

Neverwinter Nights I thought was good in the expansions.

Jade Empire was even fun if average...

Yeah DA-2 is the worst I've played from BioWare, reminds me of that horrible Witcher game kind of.

I was going to do a list but I can't rank them between each other

How can you compare Me1 to Bg2? well maybe you guys can do it but I can't.

Anyway to be on topic: Dragon Age 2 would be somewhere in the middle of my list :)

No, DA:2 is a good game. Not perfect but it has more awesome than it does... well, not so awesome. I would say my least favorite Bioware game is Shadows of Undrentide (sp?). I know it's an expansion but it's my least favorite Bioware game, out of the ones that I've played. I never got around to playing KotOR or Jade Empire.

well, not compare by content or story or graphics (obviously), but by how more or less awesome it felt to play one compared to the other. At least that's how I ranked them. As a total game experience and waht it meant to you at the time, for whatever reason. Now that you say you can't rank them I'm really curious to see your list, lol.

KOTOR 2. But even that was not bad.

"Is this the worst Bioware game you have played?"

Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords was created by Obsidian, not BioWare.
