You guys laugh now but when they cutback and make this game linear with one path to save on money and development time you will be sick to your stomach you didn't oppose these changes now.

So far, the changes they've made, I like. If they make changes I don't like, I'll complain about them. How about that? I'm not going to oppose changes I agree with.

Fair enough.

Changes that they have made I have problems with, so I am complaining now. Is that also fair?

Yes, absolutely. The only problem I have is with the people who state their opinions as fact, and then continue on to talk like they speak for everyone.

On a sidenote, let's face it all things that become mainstream suck. Gaming was not really mainstream for a long time and developers cared more for making good games than the bucks (although they were necessary). Since wow however everyone is only thinking about making big bucks and being the next big money maker (hence all MMO's, DLC, etc). Unfortunately they forgot about making good games (not all though).
They other problem is people who play casual or don't want difficult games do want to be as good as the hardcore ppl and the ones who like difficult games. They won't accept that they can't have it easy. Therefore games get toned down (wow from vanilla to cataclysm supports this).
Both things combined, companies want big bucks but a lot of people won't buy games that are too deep or complex, ruins it for those who thrive on complex games.
But you can't blame this on individual developers, they would get booted if they did it otherwise. DA2 would probably be the end of DA if it was deep, complex and hence more difficult.

Developers have never cared more for making good games than the bucks.. Developers made good games because they made bucks. If gaming didn't go mainstream, you never would have gotten a big budget production like Dragon Age Origins to begin with. If it wasn't for the WoW's, the Call of Duty's, and their ilk, then the other games wouldn't even exist at this point, and all we'd be playing is farmville..

I hate the whole "when something goes mainstream, it stinks" argument. What happens is, when it's not mainstream, the nerds claim it for themselves, making it cool in their own circle... Then the nerds sit around in their circle with their "cool to them" thing, and make fun of how stupid the jocks are... Then all of a sudden, the jocks like it too, so now that that has happened, the nerds have to hate it, and find something else that is only cool to them... It's a never ending circle that can be applied to everything, but more than a company selling out, speaks to the insecurities of the players.

Somebody give this man a medal.  Nail on the head.

Without nerds you would be sitting on stone age conditions in a cave making similar noises and gestures as apes do.

Nethack or IL-2 has never been mainstream and will never be.  So your theory does not work for I am still waiting when you come to my cool nethack or IL-2.

What is not mainstream does not interest casuals. There is a reason why you are casuals and nerds are not casuals.

That same reason tells why you play like casuals and why nerds pwn you in any game. However when that happens you blame the game and use power words like "broken", "OP", "FotM", "cookie cutter", "unbalanced", and whatever instead of just admitting you just lost to a girl lol nerd

How about we just give up? Sadly this genre of gaming is RIP...pieces of **** like EA will make sure of that....DA3 will be far worse...and feature a multiplayer as well....dont think for a second they care about quality...Bioware doesnt care anymore either...ganging up with EA is proof of that...the days when Bethesda made great games are done with...DAO was their last true great game...its all onto appealing to the mass 14 year olds with no attnetion span hack n slash shooter BS.

edit lmfao I said Bethesda on accident...well heres to Bethesda...the ONLY hope left for games of this type...

Absolutely the devs should be punished! Get all the DA female players together, give them whips and chains, and let them "punish" the devs to their hearts' content. That'll teach em.

I can't believe this thread was even made! DA2 was a great game. I'm not denying it had its flaws but all games do and those flaws aren't the design teams fault. If EA or Bioware or whoever had given them more time or recourses then DA2 might have been better. So stop complaining! To finish on a lighter note I'm glad to say I'm not the only one that has stuck up for the design team on this thread.

Um...Why did you bring up a 3 year old thread?
