I recently got the Dragon Age II signature edition. However once I launch the game and tire to log in I get a message from my computer that there is no disk in the drive. But there is and It is Dragon 2. All other disks work fine so I know it is not the cd drive. It is my game. That really annoys me. I sent a message to EA technical helpless serves and got a useless caned answer that does not help. Is there something I can do or do I have a defective disk and just need to return it? I am very frustrated here.

No that did not help. I can't figure out what they are talking about. I am using webrot and turn on gamer mode but the same thing happens. I am sick and tired of this compurter jargen. Can somebody expalne it to me by understanding I am not a computer geek? I can't be the only one. I am alsmost ready to just ask for my money back. I am so tired of having to have a #%$ing phd in computre scein just to play a game!

Not sure what Webrot is or what Gamer mode is. Are you using a Mac?

And you don't need a Ph.D.  I have a Masters and that was enough :wizard:

Webrot might be local. I am from Colorado and they are bassed here and are recomned by the Geek Squued (based in Best Buy and doing all the computure work). Gamer mode just turns off most of the shilds so the gams can run better. But that dos not help. I am using WIndows 7. I am very tired of all the problums I am having. I just want my game to work. However it dos sound like Biowar has screwd up and won't admit it. What can I do? I don't know how to turn off blocked websits. The internet is fare from my area of expertes.

not sure what to tell you, since the other thread have the step by step instructions. If you can't follow those steps then you have little choice other than to find a crack which circumvent the copy protection all together, or wait for the patch to come out to address the issue.

Sorry :/

Here is a quick fix that might work for you (These are windows 7 instructions)

Right click on "Computer" either as a icon on your Desktop or as an option on the right side of the Start Menu doesn't matter.

Then select "Properties"

Then in the new window click "Device Manger" on the Left side of the window. It should have a shield icon next to it.

Click on it and say Yes to the Prompt (if it ask you for permission)

This will open a new window with a list of devices on your computer. Double click on anything that says Drive, be it disk drive or cd drive.  This will expand the list and show you the sub items in that category.

In the subcategories

If you see an SD Card reader, right click on it and select "Disable" then say Yes to the prompt. It will disable the device.

If you see an "A:" Drive right click on it and select "Disable"

Do NOT Disable anything else.

once you are done with that, try running the game again.

If it runs then that is the problem. If not, then it isn't. Besure to go back and right click on the drive again and select "enable"

This works for a lot of people. Pretty sure you don't have a firewall or host file issue. So it is most likely the drive interferreing with the copy protection in DA2.
