I am also basing this request on the idea that Shep would be dead by the end of 3 and NOT being able to live his regular life after the end credits.

Haha, I don't know about marriage. It's like "I know we haven't been together for long but we should get married because neither of us may be alive tomorrow". And then when you survive your Shep & LI discover that marriage does not work for them and in ME4 you have to go through divorce.

Personally, I'd like to see the option. With the caveat that I sincerely hope it would be well-written. But I honestly could see a marriage for just about any of the couples (including Jack). so yeah, I think it'd add in some nifty RP'ing abilities, and be pretty cool.

Just out of curiosity, has there ever been a wedding in a bioware game? How are romances usually handled in sequels?

I don't see that happening unless Shepard retires. Look you were forced into tight situations with people and it might not be a "real relationship." It would take time after all the reapear drama has died down to decide if Shepard and bride/groom have a future together. It likely would not be within the confines of the game.

Not shown as far as I know. In DA:O human noble wardens can marry Alistair/Anora but it is only referenced not shown. And Commander Shepard is the first protaganist I know of who has a romance that actually carries over to the sequel.

Happy endings are over done and usually non-realistic.

I doubt we'd see such a thing in the game, maybe a reference in an epilogue (like with Dragon Age) but Shepard doesn't strike me as the sort of individual that would know how to settle down into domestic life. Besides, one can live the rest of their life with the person they love most without marrying them, it's becoming a lot more popular these days.

Next people will be asking for children and families and the ability to build/maintain a house on a planet of their choosing.. that sort of stuff is best suited to the world of fanfiction/fanart/imagination, really. Even if it were optional, it just wouldn't fit with the theme of the games.

Even if there is no wedding it'll be interesting to see how the romance plotline develops. Usually romance plots in movies/games end when the protagonists get together, which already happened in this case.

Your Shepard might end up dead .. not mine .. i thought ME was all about having different routes/stories .. if anything ME3 must have a multitiude of endings (not less than 6 or more .. many RPG games before have had more than a dozen different endings).

Seconded .. if done in the right context it will work beautifully .. and of course it will be optional .. i already have acouple of shepards that i imagine will like this ending

So are a ton of things in ME .. and pretty much the whole LI thing is trivial and completely unnecessary according yto your logic .. but people still want it (including me) ... if you don't want it don't do it .. simple .. other poeple will .. ME is all about choices.

I dont usually post and just read the forums so I dont know how to multi quote so I will just put your name with my question.

Fdingo- Nice comic strips BUT I have NEVER seen the pic with Shep/Ash looking out at a planet before holding hands....can anyone point me to the source so I can have it for my collection...if you havent noticed SHep/Ash is my main. I hope its a wallpaper.

Fated ends- I agree most aside from Miranda for some reason I can see a marriage ceremony being able to be implemented. I know that the ME1 LI's SHOULD be an easy transition to the idea due to having a pretty big history with the main character...the whole Saren thing made them bond, the beginning of 2 wasnt overtly stated that it started RIGHT when 1 ended and then the 2 years when you meet on Horizon even thought it was basically an insult reunion I thought.Then the timeline that has passed for 3 could mean that lots of time has passed.

Liec- I agree I really want to see where they can go in terms of the LI plotlines WITHOUT going the marriage route. I would also like to see a sorta ash/kaiden choice be made again....perhaps you have to choose between your entire squad or your LI in the end would be interesting.

Hunter- No I would try my hardest to not let my shep die but I cant really see how Bio would let Shep live if they are going to more then likely give the keys to Mass to EA after the trilogy.This way they can basically tie up the lose end of having the baddest person in the galaxy be alive while they try to bring in new green faces....although flying off into the sunset....er mass relay would make me feel bittersweet.

I hope someone can direct me into the direction of that pic again. And again this should be considered a side quest so even if your shep never felt like settling down he could still have his LI without totally going solo in the end.

While it would be nice to see the main character get married in a game without tragedy following it for once, relegating such a thing to a side-quest does not do shep or his LI any justice.

Better mentioned in an epilogue if there is one.

Shepard just doesn't seem like the marrying kind to me. I would find it very odd and OOC if we had this option.
