The release of Dragon Age II signal's the beginning of the end for PC RPG gaming. The day's of fantastic games such as:
  •  Bauldar's Gate

  •  Planescape Torment

  •  Icewind Dale

  •  Bauldar's Gate II - Shadow's of Amn

  •  Icewind Dale II

  •  Neverwinter Nights

  •  and finally... Dragon Age: Origins
are over.

Dragon Age II is not a PC-RPG game. Dragon Age II is a console game. I was reading a gamespot review where the reviewer states:
" inventory management and skill progression, have been stripped down in one way or another--a case of developer BioWare inexplicably fixing that which wasn't broken."
The answer is simple, this makes the game more accessable on consoles.
I was hoping beyond hope that Bioware would not do this. This stripping down is one of the reasons that this game does not measure up to the brilliant RPG's that came before.

Maybe there is not enough money in PC gaming.
Maybe EA has a hand in making sure this game played well to the console crowd.
Who knows..
Dragon Age II is a great action-rpg game.. but it not a PC game at all .. it is a port of a console game.
Too bad.

Platform wars are not tolerated on these forums. Let's make this very clear before we proceed with this thread.

It's both possible and feasible to enjoy games on multiple platforms. I'm primarily a PC Gamer (my Steam collection alone should reinforce that) but I'm able to enjoy games on the 360, PS3 and Wii just as easily.

Don't hesitate to express a preference, but don't pretend that it makes you any more of a valid judge of what's good and what isn't than someone with a different preference.

The who is valid to judge?

BioWare - Fascist Much?

Everyone who has played the game, regardless of platform preference, would be my suggestion.

If you consider my remark that platform preference does not lend your opinion any more or less weight to be fascist, I think perhaps you need to reconsider your use of that word.

You saying our opinions is a war, and then prohivit it, IS FASCISM.

Where did I prohibit you from sharing your opinion? I like it when people share their opinions. If it were just yes men or naysayers, this forum would be incredibly dull.

What I did say is that your enjoying games on the PC as opposed to consoles does not give your opinion more weight, so please don't suggest that other people need to listen to you specifically as a product of that fact.
