I did so because I understand the importance of the knowledge that mirror could bring to the Dalish, and I understand she's willing to ultimately sacrifice her very essence to do so, which I respect and love her for.Kristofer1 wrote...

I was hoping that the mirror would lead me to Morrigan
I was under no impression that that would happen, though hearing Merrill say something along the lines of "I see something... A pale, dark-haired woman... a man/dwarf/elf in armor/ robes/ light armor... and a child..." would've been kind of cool.

Hopefully the "Great Plot Gods" will see their mistakes, and make DA:3 even more amazing than the entire series combined!

Oh well, the Dalish elves were always kind of... foolish. Purifying world from foolishness is always a good thing, even when the world is fictional.
I was expecting more of a fight though, even the thugs in Lowtown put up a better fight.
The actions of the wanna be Demon pact maker were equally foolish, in the Words of Obi-Wan
"whos more the fool, the fool, or the fool who fallows him?"
Besides withouth foolishness we would not know wisdom. The only way to know fire or heat will hurt a person truely is if they touch it, or get close enough. A foolish act, but one that teaches a good bit of wisdom, no?

Yes, Alex, that's true - but my Hawke didn't feel like taking the blame for something that wasn't his fault.
This was one of the cases where I felt what Hawke said was not made very clear by the wheel's summary text. Hawke is taking responsibility for Merrill's future actions, so she won't hurt any of them again, rather than taking blame for what happened with the Keeper.

Wait, what? Really?
Isn't the wheel option "I did it"?
I need to see the video on what Hawke actually says now.

From what I recall, the option is "I take responsibility." Which, as you said, is a bit misleading since it can be taken to mean that Hawke is taking responsibility for killing the Keeper which is not what he or she actually says.

Now that's interesting. Huh. Guess I'll have to try it if I ever trigger Merrill's quest on this playthrough. I was the same way, "There's no way I'm taking the blame for Merrill's ongoing stupidity." I really hated having them turn on me-- broke my little elf lovin' heart.

Having to kill possessed Merril could well be the final nail in the coffin for Hawke to support the templars, i shall be disappointed if that isn't possible.

Hmm, so there is no way to feed Merril to the demon? What if you don't talk to the Keeper at all in Act 3, just climb the mountain?

My guess is the cave's magically blocked off with some kind of barrier like all those convenient busted-up wagons you see on the Wounded Coast.

Yea, I totally took that option to mean, I was taking the blame. And that's what kept me from even considering it.
Grrr, i freaking DESPISE that damn wheel. Especially since I have no desire to play thise game enough times to actually experience all of the actual dialogue choices, since the wheel is (IMO) extremely damn misleading.
