All,

I continually have this sound problem with DAII.  When I first start the game the sound is fine, but gradually gets more and more static until it finally quits a few minutes into the game.

This is the only game I have this problem with.  I am currently using USB headphones.  Below is my DXDIAG.

Question: why don't you even bother to install SP1?

For some reason automatic updates didnt install it.

Installed it and the problem hasn't changed.

Also, I tried with the regular speakers and it got static as well, but instead of everything dropping just the voice quit but music and combat sound effects still worked.

Just got done with a two hour long bout with Tech Support.

We weren't able to figure out what caused the issue, but that running in windowed mode will work around it
