Being myself a researcher of a particular form of narrative (myth) and knowing how usefull is to know a bit about literary and narrative theory, I have always wondered what kind of works both theoretical and practical are in the minds of the "architects of stories" behind Dragon Age, so I´ll be asking some questions.
-Am I right to say that you guys have a good background on literature? I can see a lot of influences of Artaud´s theatre of cruelty in your creations. I would also say that your narrative forms depart many often times from traditional uses of representation as the ones followed by Aristotle, so am I right to say that you use notions of narrative that are taken from thinkers as Artaud, Grotovsky (poor theatre) and even Brecht (the out of place moments for traditional medieval narratives)?
-How can you combine in a relatively armonic way all the stuff created by so many different people from, very probably, so many different backgrounds?
-What are the constrains of video game narratives compared to other genres such as novel or theatre? What are your approaches to bridge that gap?
-Where do you get inspiration to create content, characters and situations?
Thanks guys and I appreciate your answers if you want to give them. Feel free to add more questions if you´d like to.
