so I'm on my second playthru of DA2, my first playthru on a 2H warrior which I found to be an absolute thrill. This playthru I am playing a mage specializing in the Primal and Elemental trees. Having used two primal mages in my party on my warrior, I couldn't help but notice that most of the best staves in the game only modify cold, fire, and spirit dmg. I know you can get Coldblooded from the vendor in the Wounded Coast, the Keeper's Staff (from you-know-where), and Allure's Crook (from Sebastian's quest), but I never found a staff that added lightning dmg that was competative with the three staves I mentioned above. My favorite spell is Chain Lightning, and I also really like Tempest, so I would like to get a great +lightning dmg staff. Does anyone know where one can be obtained? Either via quest or vendor?

Yeah, lightning lovers got short-changed both on random drops and uniques. My primal based mage has yet to find good +lightning gear.

Fenris' companion quest in Act 3. His former mage master drops the best primal staff. Eye of the Storm I believe. It's the best and so far only +lightning damage staff I've seen.

Yup, I used it until the end of the game, even with other staffs offered a bit more damage, because I Tempest the hell out of everything. B)

ah, thanks very much for letting me know about that staff! on my first playthru I never had Fenris in my party so I missed the "random encounter" personal quest in Act 2 and never advanced his story whatsoever, so I didn't know about that staff existing.
