So I reloaded after siding with the mages on my rogue, just to see what it was like siding with the templars and in the final battle, right before Meredith dies, she impaled Aveline, killing her. Meredith even mentioned her (granted she called her Captain, not by her name). Did this happen to you too?

She did that with Fenris to me, but didn't kill him. I think it is similar to a move the Arishok does during his battle where he kind of impales you with his axe and picks you up.
