Can someone explain what the derived attributes do? For example "attack" , "defense" I understand few, but some numbers at that table on your attribute window make no sense to me. Is there any list with more detailed explanation on each?

It looks like there is a raw score, which is some math formula or chart based on your effective attributes (base plus bonuses for class and items). That then gets converted to an effective percentage, usually against normal enemies. The formula, chart, and conversion varies by level, so you are really only concerned with the percentage.
If you're asking what some of the derived attributes other than attack and defense actually do, you get explanations when you hover with a mouse on the PC. You might also check dragonage.wikia.com and see if someone has done a write-up (but beware of spoilers on that site).
